Hi! My husband and I are looking into having a Ryan home built in NJ. I was wondering if anyone has heard anything good or bad about them. Thanks!!!

We live in one and like all builders they take shortcuts on materials, workmanship, etc. We live in one of the middle quality homes but would probably not buy another. The higher end homes seem very nice tho.

Thanks for replying. I have seen a lot of complaints but none in NJ. I was wondering if the standards here were different. We are looking at a moderate home too, but a high home to us ;).

Good friends of mine own a Ryan home here in one of the Cincinnati suburbs. The house is beautiful and as far as I know they have been happy with it (had it built about 5 years ago). I''m not sure what price range you would put it in. They paid about $300,000 for it, which I'm sure in NJ is cheap, but here in the midwest it's a very nice home.

I have several friends with Ryan homes and have seen few complaints. We are planning on getting one when we move to North Carolina next year.

My one friend had the Avalon built and another had the Rome built. Both are happy in their homes. I like the Milan myself.

Ok, so I realize that this is entirely OT (!) But I read the title of your post, and I thought - who is Ryan Homes and should I have something to say about him??? What has he done??

:lmao:

Carry on with your regularly scheduled discussion....

We also own a Ryan home here in NE Ohio. We have had 0 problems. But, we also had a guy in charge of building our home that was "auditioning" for another job within the company. Ours was the last home he built from start to finish. The actual construction was done by Amish people.

We have a fairly large home, 3,000 sq; 4,000sq if you include the finished basement, which Ryan did and they did a really nice job on that too.
