Does Anyone Have an Opinion on Avis

I checked the websites for all of the rental agencies at SFB. The best price for the car we really want is at Avis but I really haven't read any reviews on that company. Does anyone have any thoughts?

We're used Avis several times at MCO when we've gotten them via Priceline. Lines have moved quickly, cars were in good shape, and we've gotten an upgrade several times (economy to compact). I will definitely use them again if the price is right.

Avis is a very reputable company. Generally they are just the highest price so not many people use them. (They have LOTS of corporate contracts which make it cheaper for people to use Avis if they work for the right company!)

I have used them on occasion at MCO with no problems. Like previous poster said, they are a good company. The usual reason I dont use them is price

We've also used Avis, and it is our favorite car company. However, like others have said, the prices tend to be higher, so for us that's the #1 reason we don't use them too often. :)

I used Avis in November for a corporate rental. I always use National for my personal rentals. I got a wizard card, so I did not have to go to the counter. My papers were ready when I stopped at the counter in the garage. They handed me the keys and told me the space #. I missed picking my own car like at National, they assigned me a white Chevy Classic (Malibu). Return was quick, similiar to National. Luckily my company has a pretty good refuel rate per mile, so I didn't have to fill up the gas (I used very little anyway, MCO-WDW-Downtown Orlando-MCO).

We use Avis or Hertz almost every time we're at WDW. My DH is a frequent customer of both though so that helps with rates.

Avis cars are always clean, the lines always seem short (we are able to bypass the lines in the terminal and go straight to the garage but I've checked ot those lines at some companies!), and we've never had a problem with a car.

I'm renting with National for the first time next trip (DH won't be along) so I'm anxious to see how Emerald Aisle works out for us.

Our corporate discount is with Avis, so I drive an Avis car weekly. As long as you have a Wizard number (apply for free online) then it is painless and quick. Many locations you just find your name on the board head straight to the space number and the keys are in the ignition and trunk is open. At MCO you have to go to the booth to collect the keys but it is very fast. I have never had a problem with Avis.

At MCO, we've always used Dollar and tried the codes found on the mousesavers website. Could never beat their prices and always had good luck (please they are "in" the airport so no buses.

Sorry, I wasn't familiar with the airport code you were going too.

Good luck,
Annette
