Does anyone have an LL Bean Travel Touring Bag?

This bag looks kind of neat for the parks and the airport. Anyone have one?

I don't know how to make a link, but maybe the above will work if you copy and paste it. Oh maybe the link worked anyway! :thumbsup2

What do you think for wearing at the parks? Which would be better the large or small? I'm leaning toward the smaller one. Any opinions or advice? Thanks! :)

The link worked just fine. I bought one similar to the smaller one at LL Bean last month. It's called a Freestyle..had it monogramed in lime green (what else!!). I plan on using it for travel, and possible the parks.

It looks to me like it would be uncomfortable to carry at the parks. All of the weight on one shoulder like that would make my arm/shoulder/neck tired. If I carry my purse too long it happens.

I would think it would be fine for the airport though.

Do you think the strap would be long enough to sling it across your body kind of like a messenger bag? That's what I was thinking it could do. Maybe not though. Thanks!

I have one (the regular, in black) and I used it on our trip to Disneyland last June, plus I've used it on smaller trips like Nashville and Washington, DC. I like it because of the water bottle holder. It is a good size -- it held my camera bag and sunglasses, tickets, small wallet, small makeup bag, etc. There are outside pockets for stashing things quickly (like maps that you might want to refer to frequently). I wore it across my body and it was fine. It did not get heavy b/c it is not that big and I wasn't carrying that much stuff. Plus it is very lightweight.

Also I got mine monogrammed. You can get free monogramming and shipping with the LLBean Visa.

I did order a baggallini for our next trip though -- I wanted the cell phone holder on the strap, and sometimes I just prefer the backpack style. But this is a great bag for low-impact walking trips and touring.

Yes, it is plenty long, and adjustable.

That's my diaper bag!! Bean makes the exact same bag as both the regular bag that you linked to (the larger one) and a diaper bag - the only difference is the addition of a changing pad in the diaper bag.

I love this bag. Mine is black with lime green lining, which makes it easier to locate things inside. It has lots of great compartments and is very comfortable to wear, either over the shoulder or messenger style. I usually sling it over the handlebars on the stroller. I easily tote around items for the baby - dipes, wipes, change of clothes, sippy cup, snack. I also carry a small water bottle and snack for my older daughter. I use the front flap for my small wallet purse and bottle of Purell. The top side pocket is for my keys and cell, and the bottom one is for my digital camera. Even with all of this packed in, I don't find the bag to be super heavy. I "collect" diaper bags, and this is one of my favorites.

Oh, and I should mention that I had one that started to fall apart a bit. The zipper came off the track, and on the front flap, and some of the Velcro started to come off. Bean took it back with no question and sent me a new one very quickly. They have excellent CS.

Pretty much anything made by LLbean is going to be great. I have lots of stuff from them (bed, bedding, clothes, winter coats, shoes, bags) and everything rocks!

Good luck on our decision!

What is the material like that it's made out of? Is it water proof? Would you go with the regular size or the large size? I'm thinking the regular size, which is the smaller size. Thanks for all the help! :goodvibes

If it has a long enough strap to sling across your body, then it probably would be pretty good to use. The only thing is that it looks a little big, and could get heavy...depending on what you carry. I like to travel light in the parks.
