Does anyone have a roomba?

If so what do you think of it? My Mom wants one for Christmas.

I posted this same question a few months ago before buying my friends' Roomba. He had bought it for his parents who didn't want it.

I LOVE IT!!! I had shoulder surgery a few years back and pushing the vacuum back and forth is such a pain, literally, and this little machine takes it all away. It is fast and thorough, even my 4 cats aren't afraid of it anymore.

T&B has one, she likes to ride around the living room on it :rotfl2: .

Everyone confuses her roomba with her broom.

I've heard good things about them. I'm thinking about asking Santa to get me one for Christmas.

I have one, although I never ride around on it like T&B....but it is good for non-carpet surfaces. I am not a fan for carpets

Would that be a broomba then?

The Tag Fairy even tried to give me a tag about it, but she just hasn't quite tweaked it yet. :rotfl:

I have a very loving relationship with my Roomba. I'm on a least my third one--maybe if I'd stop riding it around it would last longer (had to say it before one of you said it :lmao: ). Really, we wear the thing out we use it so often. But the company keeps sending us another one--the best customer service of any company I've ever come across. :thumbsup2

We use it on carpeting and hard floors and it does well on both, but we have low pile carpeting. It doesn't handle the transition between an area rug and the regular floor very well. It does a great job on pet hair and crumbs. Doesn't take the place of a vacuum, but I don't have to vacuum as often. My mother is thinking about getting one after seeing mine since her vacuum is so heavy to push.

If you have any other questions, ask away (but just Sherri, not these other clowns ;) ).

For those of you with naked roombas, check this out: :rotfl2:

Roomba Costumes
I thought that your wreathe was a costume at first! :rotfl2:

My Roomba goes commando... :yay: :cool1:

And please let the tag fairy not see this comment! :rotfl2:

I think they are a cool looking idea but I have wondered if they would have enough suction for carpet. Of course, if I had one, maybe I would vacuum more often and then I wouldn't need so much suction.

How does the Roomba navigate around furniture or does ot just get stuck?

I have the original Roomba and the Scooba - floor cleaner... honestly, I think I like the Scooba more than the Roomba!

You have to babysit it - but it is better than vacuuming/mopping, etc!

Their customer service is AWESOME!!!!

DH gave me one for Christmas last year...but it was really for himself. For years, I've asked him to vacuum the family room a couple of times a week & now he doesn't have to do it anymore....he just sets the Roomba free & off it goes.

I works pretty well.

My mom didn't ask for one (she did ask for a Dirt Devil Broom) but with her not being able to get around as much (she's on oxygen 24/7) this might be a great idea.. she wears herself out vacuuming.
