Does anyone have a recipe for good, creamy fudge?

I have no idea how to post links, but if you google 4 chip fudge, there is a recipe that calls for semi-sweet, milk, peanut butter and butterscotch chips. It is tasty, but you can tell there is something other than chocolate in it. I tried this at a party at a friend's house and thought it was a tasty variation to basic fudge.

The basic fudge recipe I've been using for years because it yields creamy results is the one where you boil butter and sugar and evaporated milk, then stir in chocolate chips and marshmallows.

Another vote for the Kraft marshmallow creme jar recipe. There is a stove-top recipe and also directions to microwave. I have made it both ways. Totally excellent and consistent.

It really is soooooo good! Just don't tell anyone that there is velveeta in it until after they have tried it! :rotfl:

This fudge is really good. I made it a few years ago for Christmas. My dad came over and was hovering over the dish of fudg, eating piece after piece of it. He fell in love with it!!! I then told him what was in it......and he literally turned around and spit it out and never touched it again. LOL

But I will say the best fudge is the recipe on the back of the Kraft Marshmellow Creme!!!! MMMMMM

I use this recipe or the version using marshmallows (recipe at carnation website or on all recipes). I have used every variety of chip I can find. Semi-sweet, dark chocolate, peppermint, creme de menthe, peanut butter, white chip...that's all I can think of right now. I either use vanilla with the chips, another extract that matches or omit it altogether if I think it will clash. The people I (and DH) work with gobble this stuff like crazy.

Hhmmm....It's about time to make this year's fudge....

Happy Holidays, Merry Christmas and Warmest Greetings!

Edited to add--4 minutes at a rolling boil is crucial to get the right consistency.

I use the Eagle Brand recipe.

Basically you use a can of Evaporated Milk and 18 oz semi-sweet chocolate chips. Basically pour the Milk and chips in pan and melt together and there ya have it. If you go on the Eagle Brand site, you can find the recipe there, but it's simple!

I make this fudge and every year it wins first prize in the fairs. I melt the chocolate chips in the microwave, and stir in Sweetened condensed milk. If you like nuts you can add those, or m&m's or whatever you feel like.

I also use the sweetened condensed milk one. Easiest recipe. In addition to sweeteneed condensed milk, 18 ounce chocolate chips, 1 tsp. vanilla.

I vary my add-ins: walnuts, peanuts, raisins, marshmellows, chopped up snickers or milkways, m&ms..

Very quick and easy!

I make a really easy recipe. Line a 8x8 or 9x9 pan with plastic wrap or foil. In a microwave safe bowl combine a bag of choc. waffers, a bag of vanilla waffers and a jar of peanut butter. Microwave, stirring frequently, until melted. Pour in pan and refrigerate.

WE love the RR one and it is SOOO easy. You can add any ind of nuts, coconut etc.

The cheese one REALLY is good. Never made it but have eaten it many times.

I have a recipe for "remarkable fudge". I make it every year-best ever. It has marshmallow creme, and a whole large hersheys candy bar. Lots ofbutter, lol. Let me know if you want it-it really is a hit!

I wish I could find a recipe I had years ago where there was some sort of mixture of peanut butter, grahm cracker crumbs and sugar and then you poured a chocolate fudge on top. Anyone know a version of this? It was so good.

I know while eating fudge, calories are usually not a concern, but the velveeta recipe has 3 times the calories and fats and more than 5 times the cholesterol. Just saying, sometimes it's just not worth it.

So I was off today and made three batches of fudge. I'm sad to say that the Fantasy Fudge was disappointing. Not at all creamy. I'm pretty sure that is the one my mom used to make but I followed it to the letter and it is not creamy - almost gritty. I made it with semi-sweet chips and pb chips (2 different batches). The third batch was the Rachael Ray recipe on page 1 of this thread and I can taste the butterscotch chips more than I care to. I guess I'll go back to the recipe on the jar of fluff which is not the same as Fantasy fudge on the Kraft jar. I thought it was the creamiest.

I'm really glad to read your review. My family loves the creamy, melt-in-your-mouth type of fudge (not the gritty or hardened type). I was considering the RR recipe but to know that you can taste the butterscotch chips, I won't spend time with it. Thanks!!!!

On the RR one, use all chocolate instead of the butterscotch. Forgot to say that is what we do.

For those of you who use the Kraft Fantasy Fudge recipe (marshmallow fluff), can you substitute either chocolate chips or broken up candy bars in this recipe? I bought the fluff, but forgot the baking squares.

What can I substitute and how much would I use? the recipe calls for 1 1/2 packages of Bakers semi sweet chocolate. I am going to try to figure this out, but wondered whether I can substitute or need to run back out to the store.

Thanks for your help.

I think the Kraft Fantasy fudge has too much marshmallow creme in proportion to the other ingredients. I've always felt it was subpar. I actually think the absolute best fudge has no marshmallow creme, but it's hard to make so I've made this one for 20+ years:

1 cup butter (do not substitute margarine)
1 can evaporated milk
5 cups sugar
2 12 oz bags of semi sweet choc chips
1 7 oz jar marshmallow creme
1 tsp vanilla
11/2 to 2 cups chopped nuts

Melt butter in heavy saucepan. Add milk and blend. Add sugar. Stirring constantly bring to a boil. Boil vigorously for 8 minutes, stirring constantly. Remove from heat. Add chocolate morsels and beat vigorously until they have melted. Add marshmallow creme and beat until well blended and melted. Add vanilla and nuts and blend well. Turn into well buttered 7 x 12 (or so -- I think mine is 8 x 12) pan. Let sit in a cool place for at least six hours before cutting in squares. Store in airtight container.

Just made 2 batches and these turned out great. 3 cups chocolate chips and one can condensed milk. Put both in pot, melt and poor into pan. I added nuts to one batch.

I made the fudge kit from Target (choc chips, milk, butter, mix, marshmallows) was yummy but imho NOT the same as the fudge on the back of the Hershey Cocoa cans (isn't on there anymore...but I kept a wrapper from many years ago in my recipie box) this really is the best fudge ever.....:goodvibes

I made my mom's fudge recipe tonight. I've had to readjust since I live in Colorado and altitude really messes with the recipe. Found some great advice and now it turns out every time.

Subtract 1 degree for every 500 feet in elevation you live. 10 degrees here in Denver. Works like a charm!
