Does anyone have a pre-lit tree?

We have an old artificial tree that has seen better days.
I love real trees, but I am allergic to pine. So, I saw an ad in Walgreens today for a 6' pre-lit tree for only $20.

Are they pretty decent trees? Any problems?

I guess for $20, even if the cats tear it apart, it's not that bad a deal.

We've got two, and I love them both!!

when i 1st bought it pre-lit
after a few years it's semi lit

I ordered the prelit, either white or multicolor or you can have them both lit 7 1/2 remote control from qvc. I LOVE it. You don't have to worry about wrapping the light around and untangling it. It's just a small convenience that I love.

We have a pre lit one, and I wish I paid $20!!!! I paid a lot more than that, but it is well lit and very sturdy. I Do love real trees, but with allergies also (and the cats) it was more sensible to get the other kind, then if we were going to go "fake" then it had to be pre-lit. If you have the opportunity for $20--- go for it! :cheer2:

We love our pre-lit tree!

We got one with colorful lights and it's so pretty.

Oops! It is $30. I don't know how good it is, but will go check it out today.
My DH just got home from Boy Scout camp with the boys, so off we go!
Thanks everyone!

We bought a pre-lit tree last year at Wal-mart and it works good. We added more lights to it so it's brighter.

Even at $30, it sounds like a bargain to me. I used to throw away more than that in lights every year. I bought a very expensive one about 3 years ago at Namco and it is still spectacular IMO. I cannot imagine going back to putting those lights back onto the tree and unraveling them, etc. I just love that the lights are all evenly placed and blink in a pattern that isn't to fast or to slow.

Our tree is in two sections and it honestly takes about 10 minutes to get it out of the box and ready to decorate.

Merry Christmas

Got my first ever fake tree today and it is pre-lit, :confused3 getting used to it I guess.

Today we just bought a four-foot pre-lit tree. Since we will be in WDW on Christmas, it was just easier to spend $20 in a table-top tree. Not to mention that DS is 20-months and prime age for touching everything!

We've had the same artificial tree for about 15 years. It's an 8 ft tree and it I think we spend about and hour and a half every year just to assemble the tree and get the lights on(that doesn't include hanging the ornaments). The idea of a lit tree being setup in 10 minutes is very appealing to me. :)

WOW! $20?????

I have one, but I paid about six time that much. Of course, mine is over 6' tall too.

Let me just say this about them: I LOVE THEM! Like you, I'm allergic to real trees. Any tree bark gives me hives on the insides of my arms.

At the end of the season, we take ours and place the three pieces in individual heavy-plastic bags and hang them upside down from our rafters in our attic. No dust and they're easy to put back together the next year.

For $20, it's definitely worth a try!

GOT ours last year --after swearing the year before we were NEVER putting lights on the tree again :teeth:

WE paid alot more then $30.00 though,,,its a BEAUTIFUL 7 1/2 Fir Pine (even fuzzy in places (looks real ;) ..for $30 you can not go wrong,,,,

WE LOVE OURS--just so easy and a pleasure now to put up!!

ENJOY yours!!! :sunny:

We have a beautiful pre-lit tree. We bought it last year and spent WAY more than $20-30. It has cute little pinecones on it and pretty twinkling lights. I love, love, love my Christmas tree. (Of course, this being only my 2nd year with a tree, I might be biased. :teeth: )

we purchased a 4 foot pre-lit tree from Walmart.com, it's great and it has lots of lights. It's small, but that's all we could fit in our home. I like it.

I just bought my first pre-lit tree. For the past 10 years, I have put up a beautiful artificial tree that I bought at Michael's. It is so full and pretty, but very hard to decorate. It is almost "too full." Anyway, the thought of spending 2 hours putting the darn thing up and adding the lights was more than I could bear this year. So, I broke down and went to K-Mart and got the Martha Stewart tree which is on sale for $149.00 right now. We got it up in about 20 minutes. It did take a good 45 minutes to get the branches fluffed up, but it has been squished in a box. I expect it won't take that long next year. It looks nice, but not as nice as my other artificial tree. It is more scrawny looking. But it will probably be easier to decorate as it is not so full that the ornaments will be able to hang properly.

Honestly though, unless this Walgreens tree is small, I think it for $30 it probably doesn't look too good.

It's $30 at our Walgreens. The one that is on sale for $20 isn't pre-lit. I think we'll go take a look at it tomorrow. It's only normally $40 so I'm worried that it won't be a very nice one.

Our Walgreens did not have the 6' tree. They did have the 6' tree, not pre-lit.
They did not look horrible, but I have seen better.
In fact, I saw one at Lowes that was nice. We have a small house and the tree was skinny and pre-lit. My DH thought it would fit better in our house.

Unfortunately, it is $139 and with going to WDW, I would rather save my money right now, put up our old tree and hope Lowes has it on sale after Christmas.

Just make sure that there are enough lights on it...for a 7 foot prelit you want at least 1500 lights on the tree otherwise it looks pretty sparce....
