Does anyone have a irobot Roomba?

We have a roomba. I like it a lot. It isn't perfect but keeps the apartment pretty clean. We set it to run every weekday at 10:00 am.

Our apartment is all tile, but the cat fur manages to clog the brushes about once per week. So DH gets into the roomba and deep cleans the brushes about once per week. Overall, we like it bunches! The parts are easily removed and replaced if needed. We keep some extra parts around at all times as we have had the roomba for 3 years and occassionally will loose a wheel or something.

I think that it would work well for maintaining a clean house. E try to use ours to replace the vacuum and it ends up clogged with hair, etc. I do like it, but it would work better if I did a better Jo of cleaning.

It's great for in between cleanings, but not the best for picking up every last bit of dirt off the floor. They actually do a better job than I thought of actually picking up dirt (or sand in my case) off the floor, and even from underneath the furniture.

Note: If you have a larger home, think about getting 2 of them, as when they need recharge they will not come back out to "finish the job."

It is nice, it works, but it doesn't get everything, especially in the corners and baseboards and such.

I am so glad I have one!
The good points-
gets under things I wouldn't move to vac under- bench in entry way, china cabnit
goes over throw rugs, heavy one and the rubber backed ones in the kitchen
won't go down the stairs
great for a freshen up cleaning

the not so great-
can be loud
you really have to be aware of what you have laying on the floor and pick it up- socks, plastic bags and dryer sheets can cause problems.
cleaning the brushes and wheels has to be done weekly- not a hard job but I just have to remember to do it


I have about 50/50 tile to carpet on my main floor that the roomba can get to. It does a good job on both.
