Sorry, can't give you an actual review of the SX150, but I can tell you why I decided against it. It was a pretty trivial thing, but a show stopper for me.
I was replacing a very old point and shoot my roommate uses at WDW. I'd read a bunch of reviews, thought the SX150 was the camera I wanted, and had actually gone to
Best Buy to purchase it. I had one in my hands, and as I was walking up to the counter with the salesman to purchase it, I stopped and said, "oh, I want to get an extra battery pack to go with it." That was the first time I realized it uses AA batteries instead of a rechargable battery pack. I changed my mind and put it back because I didn't want to deal with AA batteries.
I eventually went with the Canon Powershot SX230HS. It was more expensive, but in addition to not using AA batteries, is shock resistant, has a better aperture and ISO range, and is slightly smaller and lighter. We lost a little resolution by going with the SX230HS (12.1 megapixels as opposed to the SX150's 14.1), but 12.1 is more than enough for him. Most of our pictures are only ever viewed on the computer or in digital picture frames.
He's been very happy with the SX230HS. I get jealous of him, sometimes, because I carry around the big DSLR and he's got this tiny thing on his belt. When I've loaded all the pictures into Lightroom at the end of the day, I sometimes have to look at the metadata to see which camera a picture came from. It takes some really nice shots.
