I'm thinking this might be a way to eat more cheaply... to make lunches to pack for parks and keep Milk etc. for cereal. Those little fridges wouldn't be big enough.....or is this a no no??

We could pack lunches in backpack with frozen waters etc.
Have breakfast in room, etc.

We always bring an ice chest when we drive down. We keep milk, soft drinks, water, yogurt, fruit, string cheese, etc. in it. We just keep refilling with ice as needed. Works out great.

We don't use our for sandwich items, but it should work out fine for you. We bring donuts, cereal, breakfast bars, etc as well as chips and stuff for snacks.

Have a great trip!!!!

We brought a pretty large cooler on our last trip (there were 12 of us). It took up a lot of space since we were in a value, but I'm glad we had it. It was nice to have a plentiful supply of juiceboxes for the kids. And my DH loves Dr Pepper and you can't find it at WDW, so he had his own supply.
;)

We had a foam cooler in the room at AS-Sp. I was disappointed we didn't get in on a fridge swap, but honestly, the $4.00 cooler was just the ticket. We refilled the ice every morning, and it kept DD's milk and juice cold, and I'd do it again in a heartbeat. :thumbsup2

If you're gonna have deli/lunchmeats, I'd bring a waterproof tupperware or a good Ziploc bag to keep them in, the ice does melt, and no one wants watery meat :)

3 yrs ago, my parents drove their motorhome to Naples and met us in disney fort wilderness for a week, we stayed at POP, they were at fort wilderness,,,I packed a cooler with food and sodas, juiceboxes, waters etc and they drove it down, they dropped me and cooler off at Pop after they picked us up from airport, I left cooler with leftovers in it in the laundryroom when we flew home,, it was an ancient cooler which is why we brought it, and it worked out great! Bye bye old cooler..........lol............we also have ordered from garden grocer dot com 3x and LOVED them, and we always order/purchase a $6.99 foam crappy cooler from them and just pass it on to someone when we leave,,,this too works fine, but do bring tupperware for some dry goods:thumbsup2

We always take a cooler.

We get bagels, cream cheese, peanut butter, jelly, cold cuts, cheese, mustard, rolls, cereal, bananas, milk and juice for the room. We try to eat one meal a day in the room usually breakfast.

Add ice daily and you will be fine. :)

We also bring a cooler also, even though our room always has a fridge. You can only fit so much in those little fridges! We eat breakfast and lunch from the room and it is so much cheaper.

I highly recommend that anybody who wants to save a few bucks bring a cooler. We always bring ours on road trips for lunch/snacks on the road as well as lots of cold drinks. And we always take it into our hotel room, regardless of how nice the hotel. Sure beats paying $2.00 from a vending machine for a coke! And take advantage of the free ice @ the hotels to keep you cooler cool.

We're driving down so no problem with cooler. We're big campers so we have SUPER coolers...5 day coolers...No problemo. Just didn't want to be tacky.

If I do use ice machine it will only be off times and a bucket at a time. There's nothing more annoying than being at a hotel and not being able to get ice because everyone's filled their cooler...happens at soccer tournaments all the time. Drives me crazy!

Thanks guys. I don't know why I wondered if it would be frowned upon.

:thumbsup2

That will help with the $$$.

We always drive or ride harley down an have our own cooler or coolers when we drive we take 3 small coolers 1 for pop, 1 for water an 1 for food. Rule is with drinks you take 1 out you put 1 in at same time. We find that having 3 smaller coolers we use less ice over all an they so much easier to handle than 1 big. Take up no more room than our big cooler.

When we ride harley we go back out to walfart after we check in an get room to buy drinks breakfast food an milk an a styrofoam cooler that I get to hold on way back to room LOOKS SILLY but I don't care.

Only 1 time in more than 2 dozen stays at disney resort have we ever had ice machine be out of ice then it was a simple as going to the next floor for ice. Those ice machines at disney resorts do an awesome job of meeting the demand.

We always bring a cooler. I freeze about 12 water bottles and they keep things cold all the way to disney. We take the water to the parks instead of buying water there.

Were you going to bring frozen water bottles or were you going to freeze them there? I don't think you'll be able to freeze anything without a freezer, though.
