Does anyone enjoy Mission Space Orange??

I love the orange side. What's interesting is that I'm prone to motion sickness and get migraines. I'm totally fine on the orange side, though, if I stare straight ahead.

Well after reading these comments I'm much more reassured about going on Orange, the way some people talk about it you'd think it was guaranteed to ruin your day!

I did Orange once and felt sick the rest of the day. It is the ONE ride at Disney I will 100% never do again. I'd go to Stitch's over and over vs ride MS again.

However, DH loves it and rides it every trip!

I feel like I'm waaaay in the minority here, but I don't enjoy this ride very much, not because it makes me sick, but I think it's boring! :confused3

Granted, I am a thrill ride junky. I've been on those G-force carnival rides that spin in a circle and make you stick to the wall, which is the same effect. They are not my favorite, but fun enough that I thought that, plus the awesome Disney theming would make me love this ride. The first time I tried it I tried Orange and I was SO excited because of all the hype and everyone saying how thrilling this ride is. But I was underwhelmed. I think it just got way too hyped up for me, I have been on WAAAAY scarier rides than this. This ride is tame to me, though again, thrill ride junky here with no motion sickness issues.

The storyline and the queue are all great. I think if I went into it with no expectations I would have enjoyed it more just as another well themed Disney-type ride. I've been on it a few times since with people who want to go, and I don't feel the time is wasted...but let's just say if I was on a solo trip this wouldn't even be on my radar.

For thrills, you can find me at RnR or Everest. :thumbsup2

We always ride the Orange side and have with my DD ever since she was tall enough to ride (IIRC, Green was not available until later). We have never tried Green.

I went on MS for the first time last September (and I've been to WDW a handful of times). It's one of my DH favorite rides so I agreed to go with him so he could ride it during our disneymoon. We did Orange and although it isn't my favorite ride I didn't mind it. You are in close proximity so those with claustrophobia steer clear, and you certainly feel the pressure when you take off which reminded me of the Gravitron rides (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gravitron) and it only lasted a few seconds.. Basically I'd go on again but I wouldn't be running to it any time soon. ::yes::

The storyline is fun and my kids love that they each have a "mission" to do. We like it - its different from a rollercoaster and really very well themed. My husband gets mild motion sickness occasionally and he was fine with Orange. Green is pretty tame and feels more like a video game? Not our must-do ride in Epcot but something we happily ride.

I really enjoy the ride and prefer orange. My favorite part is the take off from the launch pad which I will admit is intense. I can see how folks prone to motion sickness could be ill the rest of the day from it. Only downside for the attraction is it always seems like such a long walk back from Mars!

I can see that... I like it, but I certainly don't think it is the greatest thing ever. It isn't one of my priorities at EPCOT and if I don't have enough time for everything this usually won't make the cut.

I love it!, is the ride I always go to and always get freaked when waiting for it, but no power on earth will make me do the green one, the G force is great, and if you follow the instructions you won't feel dizzy.

Plenty of people have reported on other threads that they followed the instructions to face forward yet still felt sick. It's not a guarantee for all.

My 7 year old came off Orange and asked to do it again. I was too busy trying not to hurl to answer him.

Happily at 7 kids can ride alone!

I have no problems with orange and sometimes even close my eyes so I feel the spin. #rebel

We love it! Honestly, I don't see why you'd ride the ride and NOT experience the weightless sensation, that's the point of the ride. It would be like riding TOT with an option to not drop. Why bother?

Because there's still the story and forces like Star Tours creates and it's fun. I haven't braved Orange but I like Green's experience just fine.

But it's not supposed to be a thrill ride. The spin isn't supposed to be felt as a spin. It's supposed to be felt as gforces, like you're actually lifting off of a planet and shooting into space.

So I think the wrong expectations for the ride are what caused the disappointment.

I haven't ridden it at all the last two times I went, but I rode orange about three trips ago and I loved it. It made me a little woozy, but I was fine after a minute or two. I get motion sick now (after unfortunate bus rides through the mountainous areas of northern Greece), but didn't at the time. I recovered pretty quickly then, but that change (and time restraints) is why I haven't ridden it since. It didn't affect my dad at all as far as I could tell, but he doesn't really have any motion sickness problems. I have no issues with roller coasters, but simulation rides where the movement doesn't always match up perfectly with the visual really get to me.

I love the orange side. You really get to experience what the G-forces are like in a real rocket lift off. I go on alone if I have too. I took my 14 year-old niece on it last August while my wife and sister sat it out. She loved it and could not wait to tell her friends she did the orange side.

I have only done Orange not Green. I rode it first well over ten years ago and I was a bit freaked out by the sensations I felt. At that time it was not common knowledge that you were spinning. I listened to directions and did fine but I think it is intense. I am prone to motion sickness but I was okay. My DD who can do just about anything, had to sit down and eventually lie down. The CM's escorted us to place where they had a place to rest, cold cloths and water. After about 45 mins she was better but she said she had a headache most of the rest of the day.

I have ridden twice since and now that I am officially old, I find I have less desire to ride it anymore. It is incredible and something that I am very glad I did a few times but it is not something I find so fun or thrilling that I need to do it every trip.

I LOVE ORANGE!!! Can't believe this ride isn't a must do! I Love the feeling of lift-off, I love the G's pulling me into my seat, love flipping the switches and lights, love every part of it! I will say that there is always some minor incident when we land, but I pull the stick back with all my might, and so far we have all been safe! ;)

Orange side is awesome. One of my favorite rides at Disney. It's so much different than what you can ride elsewhere. Definitely try this ride!!!

I've been on over 100 coasters, but Mission Space is unlike anything else. On coasters you're only subjected to g-forces for a second or two as you reach the bottom or top of a hill. I believe Mission Space only pulls 2-3 g's, but the prolonged exposure makes it feel much more intense. One thing I would never, ever try is Mission Space after a few drinks. Even as a seasoned thrill rider, I doubt I could handle it.

I don't need to hear from people who DON'T like Orange (or the ride at all) I wanted to see if there was anyone who DOES like it.

I don't get too motion sick, so I wanted to try it, but if there is like, no one who likes it I guess I would try green.

here's the things about motion sicknesses, just because it has never happened doesn't mean it never will. I enjoy Orange and have every time I've done it. BUT, I don't do it anymore. It's simply not worth risking getting sick and ruining a day.

My son and I will ride the orange 4 or 5 times in a row if there's a short wait. I will even do it after a few drinks.

The first time I rode Mission Space I was with DW, who was NOT a thrill ride junkie (although she did enjoy Test Track and Tower of Terror she refused to try Splash Mountain). She wanted to ride the green side--it was fine. The second time I rode Mission Space I was with my then 21yo niece. She wanted to ride orange side. I have an extremely severe case of GERD, so I think of myself as the one with the week stomach. I followed the advice I read somewhere, perhaps here. I kept my eyes on the screen, did not look around at all, and breathed deeply. It was fine. I did not have the least bit of stomach problems. I really believe the looking around causes the problems that some people have. I would ride green in order to ride with someone I was with who did not want to ride orange, otherwise I would not hesitate to ride orange.
