Does anyone else wish they'd go back to limiting and charging for Evening EMH's?

Wow do I miss the good ole days when a limited number of people, I think 5000 staying on property (first come first serve) could pay $10, get a bracelet before closing time, and then go and walk on after closing time, just about every E ticket ride. The Magic Kingdom seemed completely empty. Those were the good ole days.

I made it to one of the evenings at the MK and it was wonderful. There were no lines for anything and the characters were actually looking for people to play with - I remember Chip & Dale chasing my dd and her friend around the hub and down Main Street. I would definitely pay $10 a person again for the experience.

Yup, my family would do it. No questions asked! It was one of the best experiences we had on a trip! We walked on to anything we wanted!

We used to do this too. It was great to be able to wander around and get on any ride without standing in line. EMH are just too crowded. You can't get near any of the rides from about 5PM onwards any more. We tend to avoid the EMH park or go to it in the morning and then leave after lunch and head somewhere else.

It was amazing to walk around a mostly em pty park at night. No lines anywhere. CMs asking if you just wanted to ride again and again and again... I think I rode HM 5 times in a row one night without getting off and we could have ridden more. Lots of great interation with the characters. etc...

It'll never happen because it's hard to take away something once it becomes "normal" but I really do wish they'd bring back the old method of EMHs.

Yes, and would pay more. Those experiences were priceless. The character interaction, riding the rides over and over, being able to just amble around without a grand plan.

My DH and I were just talking about this the other day! Would love to see them go back to this, we used it every chance we could when they offered it during our trips. Our kids still talk about riding Splash over and over again without ever getting out of the log! We just loved wandering around the park with hardly anyone else there... sure made MK magical

You bet...........we attended a few when they offered them, you paid 10 bucks each and had the run of the park, they limited the number they sold.........best thing they ever offered. This EMH they offer now is a joke, not clearing the parks of non resort people is the problem, just too crowded even though they can't ride anything.

Yes!!!! We loved E-Nights! So much better than the current system! We would most definitely pay more to have it back.

I was just about to post the same thing when I saw your post While I think $10 may be worth it if that particular park is really busy the night you want to go, I do think that there are so many nights when you can go in and it is quiet enough anyway that you don't need the cap on numbers. I agree with one of the PP's that you pay enough as is to stay onsite.

I remember when the bracelet thing was new and this family asked us what the bracelets were for. Not wanting this new "secret" to get out to the masses, we lied and said it was for our hotel pool (we were staying at the Yacht Club and you do need a bracelet for the pool there).
But it was still fun on our last trip standing behind this big group trying to ride ToT after reg. closing. We walked around them, flashed our key card to the CM, and was waved on past the shocked dirty looks from the large group who didn't have onsite cards.

I've been a guest for over forty years (went the first year), now and I've seen all the different ways and I like this one the best.

I think it's a great perk for staying on property. There was a time I stayed off site; because, I didn't feel it was such an advantage to be on site. Now, I do and this is why. I vote for keeping it this way.

Speaking of old ways of doing things - am I wrong - when fast passes were first introduced - weren't they only available to Disney resort guests?

Loved the E Ride Nights. I prefer them to the parties that they tried, like the Pirate and Princess parties, because I am not as much a fan of the live entertainment as I am of the rides. I just want to be able to ride to my hearts content. I will buy tickets to the Halloween Party or the Christmas Party, but only every other year or so because they are expensive and crowded. EMH loses its value as more resorts open, it makes that park more crowded instead of less.

I don't think it is just the fact that there are more resort rooms but the fact that they no longer clear the park and people as usualy attempt to cheat the system. A CM at an attraction on our most recent trip turned a guest away because his resort card was over a year old

I think even with current policies if they cleared the park and checked id's more closely that the parks would be less crowded. I do prefer the old way though.
