Wow do I miss the good ole days when a limited number of people, I think 5000 staying on property (first come first serve) could pay $10, get a bracelet before closing time, and then go and walk on after closing time, just about every E ticket ride. The Magic Kingdom seemed completely empty. Those were the good ole days.
While I think $10 may be worth it if that particular park is really busy the night you want to go, I do think that there are so many nights when you can go in and it is quiet enough anyway that you don't need the cap on numbers. I agree with one of the PP's that you pay enough as is to stay onsite.
