Does anyone else think that the JonBenet killer could be lying

I wonder if he is lying about doing it. He wrote a paper in school about the murder details. I wonder if he was obsessed with her death.
I sure hope that he did it and gets convicted so there is justice in this case.

I do....the whole thing is fishy. I dont think the mother was innocent either.

Yes, I think it is very possible he is lying. His story and demeanor just seem off. Not off in the killer kind of way, but off in the attention grabbing kook kind of way. I guess we will have to wait and see.

he just seems so willing to talk about it but didn't really have details. it seems like he wants the attention. there is just something weird about it

I really really hope that they have DNA to link him.

It seems very suspect at this time. More details will be interesting.
I can't imagine Boulder police involving all these resources for a habitual liar/pediphile. But so far there really has not been anything that really connects him to the case. He is even more connected to Polly Klaas than JonBenet.
:confused3

I think he did not do it. I feel he maybe getting paid to be the fall guy. I am still one who believes the mother knew who did it and helped to cover it up.

It seems like he might be lying. I guess there were no drugs in her system and I read just yesterday she was sexually assaulted with the paintbrush only. I also read yesterday that she fought to live. He said he drugged her. I read she was wide awake and fighting to live.

I read a very interesting and lengthy article yesterday written by a retired detective who helped on the JonBenet case but ultimately had a falling out with the police department because they refused to agree to any of his findings and they (supposedly) bungled the investigation so badly.

ANyways, this was interesting, I thought:

I think he's lying too. I'm glad I'm not the only person who thinks it. This all just seems a little off and when I watched his "news conference" i was even more convinced he's lying.

I thought from the beginning that this guy is lying. He is an attention seeker.

I have always believed that the family was somehow involved and was actually relieved to hear that I was wrong yesterday. But sadly it's beginning to look more and more like this person may be just another sorry excuse for a human looking for attention. I am hoping that we may hear soon more about the details of the crime that he supposedly knew that were never released to the public.

I guess if nothing else is gained from this, we have one more pedophile off of the streets :(

This is going to sound very judgemental...but IMO he is a wacko pervert possibly doing whatever it takes to be brought back to US :confused3. Many are very interested in what actual proof they have besides his confession. I've never felt the family was involved and think it's very sad how the mother, Patsy, died in a cloud of suspicion. However, thank God IF it is him and the poor family can find some peace. God Bless little JonBenet ^i^

I find the news stories I have been reading quite odd. I'd like to see how the DNA evidence pans out...

No, I don't think he did it. All the circumstances around his "confession" are just too weird. And also, why now? :confused3 I think someone pegged it when they said he's trying to get extradited (is that the right word?) because he doesn't want to go to a Thai prison.

I don't know if this is relevant completely, but what do you make of this? I read yesterday some quote's by Patsy's sister. She said she received a call from John and John told her that arrest was imminent. She asked him who, and he said (I'm paraphrasing), "I don't remember the name right now."

???? Supposedly this guy was on the radar before Patsy died!

I don't know what this means, but it seems very strange. You'd think he'd remember the suspect's name. Really, though, it seems to have no bearing on IF the suspect is innocent or guilty. I just though it was strange.

I agree. It just doesn't add up and I don't think he did it.

So far, I don't think he did it. What little info he has given doesn't match up with what little info investigators have shared over the years.

I'm waiting for the DNA tests. Which I have a feeling won't match.

I've always felt someone in the house / family had to have done it.

If true, it is strange. I mean, his name is John Carr...not Rumpelstiltskin. Not a hard one to remember.

I would think if they had a suspect, they would have questioned JR about him (ie, did they know him, ever work with him, ever meet him, recognize him).

The entire case is bizarre.

Yup, strange he can't remember the suspects name, considering his own name is John, his daughters name was Jon, & the suspect is John.

:rotfl:

Oh gosh, I am so glad I am not the only one. The minute they showed this guy on TV and I heard him speaking, I kept thinking something was "off" about what he was saying... even just the particular phrasing he was using like: "I was with JonBenet when she died..." WHO SAYS THAT? I mean, a killer that already confessed would just say "I killed her", right? It's just all weird!

While I sincerely hope they HAVE found the killer, it pains me to say that I really don't think this is the guy either. Something is just not right about this whole thing!
