Does anyone else love calling Disney Dining?

It sounds like you have a wonderful opinion of people from Kansas!:sad2:
Though I did have a professor that smoked unfiltered menthol cigarettes...

Oh, nooo, LOL, I just picked a place out of my head that sounded far away. The menthol cigarette smoker could have been from ANYWHERE.

In fact...ummm, the CM in Topeka is originally from Brooklyn. Yeah, I forgot that part.:rolleyes1 He also just moved because he got the job on Monster.com....just like the girl in Tampa! All the native Kansians don't even LIKE him!

*WLL ducking and waiting for the fallout from all the Brooklynites*

Not Topeka, Tampa! The last CM I dealt with told me that she just decided that she wanted to quit her job in Atlanta and move to Tampa so she applied to jobs on Monster and viola! She was great. I especially love calling to hear "have a magical day" Unfortunately, I find myself wanting to say it in everyday life a little too often:rolleyes1

I am pretty sure they are in varying cities, all over the country. I still wanna beilieve they are in a call center inside the castle, or the big round Epcot ball.

Yeah, but I got 'em memorized!

press 1 for english

press 1 for "other than V&A's"

press 2 for reservation after the next 7 days

Then there are whole series of "ones" pushed for if you have been to the Walt Disney World resort more than X amount of times, then again for "have you been to the WDW resort..." (I don't even know, I just push 1) then AGAIN I push one!

Oh, and they ask you to stay on the line to do a survey at the end of your call, but I never heard any prompts for that?????

Oh, and at some point you put your phone number in, also...right?

To me, that adds to the build up, the excitement...until the crescendo of making your ADR finally happens! Ahhhhh!

:rotfl: I usually do, 1, 1, 1 as soon as they ask about English and Spanish and that is all you have to push

They changed the recorded message this week and it is now a lady instead of the guy.. I miss him.

But, yes I love calling...

Awww, they did just change it...within the past few days, i just called to listen to it!

Yeah, it is 1 for english, then 1 for non V&A's but THEN it is *1* if you are calling from Orlando and make a res for the next 7 days, and *2* if calling to make an ADR for after the next week.

I guess it doesn't matter which button you push, but I always do 2.

Then phone number or res #

Then...all those ones in a row...about how many times, since 2003, blah blah blah.

Yeah, I do miss that guy's voice. Why is that? Why do we get attached to a voice?:confused3

I've always had nice CMs. Even when I've called to try to change my time on an existing reservation, they've always been nice. Granted, some are friendlier than others. I had one CM who chatted with me for quite a bit--it was clear that she truly loved her job.

Oh my gosh! I thought I was losing it the other day when I had to call. I thought..hmmmm I thought it was a guys voice, this is a woman...lololol
I feel a little better now....:lmao:

I just hit 1 for the 3rd one.. since even if you enter your phone number and everything else, you still have to give them your number when you make the ADR.
I can't wait until I get out of work, so I can call again :woohoo:

There used to be a switchboard in the castle! That is where people called to make reservations in the early years. How cool would it have been to work up there. Now they are in Tampa and about 15 minutes away in Orlando- near Sweet Tomatoes:)
