I think I may be crazy (aren't we all?:upsidedow :rotfl: ) but i LOVE calling Disney Dining! I called twice so far to confirm ADRs for next week for my ADRs and my DBFs SILs ADRs :rolleyes1

Every Disney Dining CM I've had has been wonderful and I always get so excited when I hear "Thank you for calling Disney Dining, have a magical day!"

:cloud9:

Is anyone else as nuts as I am? :yay:

The CMs I've dealt with this week have been wonderful too and my one today at lunch time went out of her way to find me a character breakfast for my last morning. However, I had to hang up last night after being on hold for over 15 mins and heard "Yo Ho Yo Ho: A Pirates Life" 3 times..lol. I felt like I was stuck on POTC!

No, because I know people who work there. I just call if I absolutely have to and keep it quick so they don't have to stay on the line very long.

(it's not like I dread calling, I just only do it when necessary so they don't get docked for being on the phone with me)

The longest I've ever been on the line was probably 10 mins, so i hope they dont get docked for helping me :confused3

No......I get tired of hearing "nothing available".

I have the opposite experience....every single time I call with a new request, I am ready to hear that, but they always manage to find what I am asking for! I called last night to cancel an ADR I didn't need, and then out of the blue thought I'd try for the storybook princess breakfast at Norway, and they had it :cloud9: The only thing I have ever not been able to get was Chef Mickey, but I only tried the one time, and then took LTT instead......
I love the "have a magical day".....I've not been dissapointed yet, they never fail to say it ! pixiedust:

Are you one of those 180 day planners? We often go with very little notice so "no' is what I usually hear.

I enjoy it, because I am a planner and I feel like I am one step closer to going when I have accomplished something. I have called 4x for this trip and all have been great experiences (PERFECT times for dinner, too!) I was nervous about the character meals, but I was able to get 2 at the times I wanted and within a month of going. Thanks for the reminder to confirm my meals! :goodvibes

I bet I call more than anyone else...it's so embarrassing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes, yes! I love calling Disney Dining! I picture the CM I am talking to sitting in a section of the park with offices. I imagine them walking over to Cosmic Ray's on their lunch break. of course I realize this is ridiculous and they are probably sitting in a cubicle in Topeka Kansas, chain smoking menthol cigarettes and looking at dirty magazines.:rotfl:

But when I talk to them, I can get INTO the Disney experience. I can smell that chlorinated water over the phone. I can *feel* the magic of Disney. It is really weird, but yeah, I know what you are talking about. I kind of get goosebumps before I dial.:scared1:

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: any particular reason they are menthol cigarettes, in my experience the "hard core" smokers wouldn't smoke menthol... :rotfl2:

I love your reality...:worship:

LOL, I dunno...:confused3 I was just trying to think of the trashiest type of cigarettes.

They probably drink "Lancers" or" Boone's Farm" wine, too. But dang, I love those CM's!

I don't like pushing about 20 buttons before they let you talk to somebody.

Yeah, but I got 'em memorized!

press 1 for english

press 1 for "other than V&A's"

press 2 for reservation after the next 7 days

Then there are whole series of "ones" pushed for if you have been to the Walt Disney World resort more than X amount of times, then again for "have you been to the WDW resort..." (I don't even know, I just push 1) then AGAIN I push one!

Oh, and they ask you to stay on the line to do a survey at the end of your call, but I never heard any prompts for that?????

Oh, and at some point you put your phone number in, also...right?

To me, that adds to the build up, the excitement...until the crescendo of making your ADR finally happens! Ahhhhh!

Not Topeka, Tampa! The last CM I dealt with told me that she just decided that she wanted to quit her job in Atlanta and move to Tampa so she applied to jobs on Monster and viola! She was great. I especially love calling to hear "have a magical day" Unfortunately, I find myself wanting to say it in everyday life a little too often:rolleyes1

I called to change some ADR's and got the nicest CM. She talked to me about being excited about my trip. She reviewed all of my ADR's and pointed out that I was staying for 8 nights and only had 7 ADR's. OOPS!. I told her that I would have to think about what I wanted to add and call back. I called back a few days later and needed to move things around. I didn't get the warm fuzzy feeling that the other CM gave me. The next CM made me feel bad for changing things. I then changed my mind one more time. I think I got the same not so friendly CM. I made a funny joke. I was something like "So do you guys keep records of how often people change their reservations? I bet you have me flagged! (LOL:rotfl: ). It was said in a joking manner. I got nothing but dead air from the CM and finially I said "That was a joke, your supposed to laugh". CM response "Oh?". :confused3

Why would CM's get docked for being on the phone with a customer?

I do know CM's get paid by the bookings of trips. I called one time to confirm dates and where and the CM was NOT friendly. He said, "since I get paid by the bookings I will check quickly." and then under his breath he said, "this is ridiculous." I emailed DW and they even called me apologizing and stated he should never divulged the info about getting paid per booking.

I do love calling and confirming, rereading my reservations, looking over the menus, and searching this website for pics and tips on the food or restaruants.

It sounds like you have a wonderful opinion of people from Kansas!:sad2:
Though I did have a professor that smoked unfiltered menthol cigarettes...
