Does anyone else like to feed those seagulls?

I just wanted to point out one of my family's favorite things to do when we are at Universal. It has gotten to where we bring a loaf of bread in our backpack so we can feed those darn birds. My 3 year old twins and I will sit outside that BTTF, MIB or one of the other rides that they are too small for while my husband and my older son are inside and my 3 year olds have as much fun as my older one is having on the rides! Some of the birds will even eat bread out of their hand! Are we the only nuts that likes to do this?

I would certainly do that if I had thought of it! I usually end up giving them my french fries or pretzel or whatever else I happen to have.

Nice that you actually bring them food!

Does anyone else see why this is a bad idea? I hate when it happens at home in a fast food parking lot. Someone decides to feed the birds and before you know it they are all over the place and their **** is all over your car. Now would why would I want this scenario while i'm waiting on line in 90 degree heat???? Especially since there is no car to protect you from the inevitable **** droppings. :(

I too am against this, they become too aggressive when fed and then they attack people carrying food. That is why they recommend not feeding the birds at most of the parks.

This happens at the Jersey Shore as well. They even have signs on the boardwalks discouraging people from feeding the seagulls as they become agressive.

On the beach, I've seen these flying rats steal sandwiches from unsuspecting children...right out of their little hands! An aggressive flock can be very frightening to little kids. Heck, they frighten me!

oh come on, chill! We don't want to put the Dark Marauder out of a job now, do we?? :p :p :p Ya'll know how he steals food from visitors for a living. I hear though that popcorn and french fries are his favorite ;)

That's exactly what I thought. The only person who is qualified to really answer this!! How do you feel DM? Should we stop feeding your brother's and sisters? ;)

BTTF is a good area for feeding birds. 'Specially over by water.
But, yeh, is a nuisance in people feeding areas.

I think that is important to note before a flaming contest occurs.

I find the birds really funny to watch. How they argue over dropped popcorn and stuff is very entertaining! Never had one try to attack me though.

I knew I was going to be dragged in one way or another. :jester:

But because they can get aggressive, I'd recommend against feeding them.

If I thought the birds were even the slightest bit aggressive I definately wouldn't let my 3 year olds feed them. I go to Universal about once a month and have never seen them act aggressive towards me or anyone else that is feeding them. I understand how they could become aggressive, maybe they would start to expect food from everyone, but I think they are the opposite. My seven year old gets near them and they fly away.
I was just pointing out something fun to do with the little kids while the big kids are in line for rides. I'm sorry if I started a debate. Can we still be friends?;)

Feed the birds....tuppence a bag....tuppence....tuppence...tuppence a bag.

I guess we don't want to end up looking like that bird lady in Mary Poppins.:p

Please do not feed them. It only makes them more aggresive.

Those wonderful birds...one of them POOPED ON ME Saturday just minutes after my arrival!!! I vote against feeding them...ever...;)
