Does anyone else like Japanese Beer?

I'm sure not many people go to Epcot just for the Japanese Beer, but we do. I spent a little time in Japan for work and became accustomed to Kirin Beer. So now each time we go to Epcot, we stop in England and get Fish-n-Chips then trek to Japan to get a Kirin Light. I'm thirsty just thinking about it!

I love Kirin. My family knows anytime we walk past the Japan pavilion the Dad is going to make a Kiring stop. You can get it at most craft beer stores and some grocery stores in bottles (I'm not sure about the light version though).

trek to Japan to get a Kirin Light

1) I prefer Asahi Kuronama.
. . . rich, deep flavor
2) In a pinch, Orion
. . . light and crisp
3) Kirin is only "OK" for me.
. . . Kirin Ichiban goes well with Sushi, but (to me) not on its own
. . . Kirin Light is so light & weak it is almost transparent, and not full of taste and (to me), worse than Corona

They have--or at least had-- Kirin on draft at Yak and Yeti.

Asahi is good--Sapporo as well.

I have been able to find Kirin here where I live. I found Asahi at World Market, and Sapporro is served at the local Japanese restaurants, but unsuccessful for Kirin.

Just make sure it's the actual import, and not the version brewed in Los Angeles or Canada...

Don't quite get it (just in my head?) but I love Japanese beer with sushi and other Japanese food

I love Japanese beer and Kirin has always been my go to. That was until we ate at Teppan Edo and I tried the beer sampler, which included Asahi and Sapporo along with some edamame. Asahi is now my new fav Japanese beer as I found it more flavorful that Kirin (but of course still love that too). Here is the sampler to wet your beer thirst

I like to drink Japanese and Chinese beer with their respective cuisines when I get the chance. Heck, I'll even drink American beer when I am in the U.S.:drinking:

I've read some less than positive reviews of these brews...but I've enjoyed all of them. When we go to Publix to stock our room I usually pull a sixer of Sapporo and some of those tall aluminum cans of Kirin. :earsboy:

Believe it or not, I became a fan of Japanese beer while living in Baton Rouge & going to a pub/restaurant near LSU where they had Asahi on the menu! It is my favorite Japanese beer by far! :)

Yup, the Japanese Craft Beer tasting at the Food and Wine Festival was awesome!
