Does anyone else have a problem with bed height?

I’m a 5’0 disabled senior, and have a difficult time getting in and out of Disney beds. They’re too high for me. We usually just stay in regular rooms. Can you please tell me if the beds in the accessible rooms are lower? Thank you for this information in advance.

That’s a good question. I hope they are. We are staying in a wheelchair accessible suite at ASMu in February and that will be much easier for my father to get up if they are slightly lower than the typical bed that we have recently seen at wilderness lodge and pop century. They seem quite high. I feel like I have heard about a lower bed somewhere in past reading but sorry I cannot remember the details

I was wondering the same thing. I do think I heard that beds in accessible units are lower. During my last stay in a regular villa, that climb into the bed was difficult. Was considering requesting an accessible unit on my next stay for that, and for the hand rails in the tub, but wasn't sure since an accessible unit isn't a deal breaker, just a request. I'd hate to take a HA unit from someone who absolutely has to have one.

They are.
Many things around the room are lower.
My sister and I ended up in one and asked to change to a regular room because it was awkward for us as fairly tall people that do not require a wheelchair.

If you don't want to take away an accessible room that should have a lower bed, ask housekeeping they should be able to bring you a small metal stool (like step) to help with the too tall bed. Sometimes it is just a stool and sometime it has an attached handle and that one is very nice.

And if they don't have one, it's pretty easy to order one on Amazon and have it shipped to the resort. It would be considered medical equipment, I think? It shouldn't incur the handling fee that way!

Called member services, was told they’re not allowed to give these to guests since they are a hazard. But if we wanted we could bring our own.
