its not enough covers for me!

i liked it when it was a sheet, fuzzy blanket, and comforter (the old comforters not the 150lbs ones lol)

now with the thin sheet, super thin "fuzzy blanket", and stiff top sheet i am absolutely freezing at night even when the temp in the room is brought up.

in december 2013 i had pj pants and a t-shirt and had to put sweatpants over the pj pants and my zip up hoodie over my t-shirt and i was still cold.

in july 2014 we road tripped it so i brought a small fleece throw with me and we asked for an extra "fuzzy blanket" but the maid gave us an extra stiff top sheet.
well i was still cold.

i'm going solo in april and i'm bringing the small fleece throw plus i'm bringing a fleece pj set and if i get a room with double beds i'm using the sheets from the other bed as well.

lets see if that helps lol

I turn the aircon off at night. In fact, this year I actually put it to warm as I was so cold one day.

Simply request additional blankets from housekeeping... problem solved! If they bring you a sheet ask them to go back and find you a blanket.

Exactly. If you need a blanket, just ask. If you need 2, just ask. Turn up the thermostat to a higher temp. Turn off the overhead fan. What do you do at home when you're cold?

I'd still prefer the new linens to the old bedspreads. So unsanitary.

i said i turn up the temp.
i don't have the fan on.
i asked twice for a blanket and even with the mousekeeper coming in the room so i could show her which one i wanted she still did not give it to me.

at home what would i do?
well i would have way more options at my disposal now wouldn't i?
i have plenty of blankets at home.
i have heavy robes as well.
i'm not trying to shove heavy blankets and robes in my suitcase cuz that would take up all the space and would cause my suitcase to be over the weight limit.
i also have an electric blanket and i could toss my clothes in the dryer and put them on immediately.
i also have a space heater i could turn on and sit in front of.

Can you take an electric throw instead of a fleece throw? That what I would do.

I personally love the triple-sheeting. Like minnie mum said for sanitary reasons.

Last night, here in Georgia, my husband was laughing at me. I was so cold in our house that had been at the same temperature all day long and that's where I was all day long. But then we went out for dinner and it was raining and I got my feet wet so when we got home, that was it for me. To get comfortable to sleep, I put on heavy socks and then a pair of thin woolen gloves. I also put the covers over my head to retain my body heat. I slept like a baby until 9 this morning.

My advice? Thick socks and a pair of thin gloves. Bot gotten at a dollar store, both fit easily into a suitcase (inside a pair of shoes or in the outside zippered pockets of the suitcase), then put the covers over your head and relax.

I learned all that back when my family and I tented on weekends in the 70s.

OP, I feel your pain. It's so hard to get the room temperature just right. My husband is always hot, so he wants the A/C blasting. He just throws off the extra blanket, leaving me shivering!

I have found that if I wear warm socks to bed when I travel, I don't feel quite as cold. I've also just spread the bathrobe over my side of the bed to keep me a bit warmer. That's worked ok thus far.

I appreciate the triple sheeting. I like knowing everything is clean and fresh. Bedspreads give me the heebie jeebies. I love the beds at the Hyatt! They have a down comforter with a duvet. Perfect!

Oh dear. We had this problem over Christmas in California - hate the triple sheeting.

I will make sure we have plenty of fleece PJs for both kids and that both adults have warm pajamas too.

OP....I'm with you. The triple sheeting doesn't feel warm enough for me either. The problem is, you don't realize it until you turn in for the night. At that point you're so tired, that you just start throwing clothing over yourself to keep warm.

I love the triple sheeting. I didn't like it when they used those comforters. Seemed like those were more likely to have germs (or who knows what) on them.

I think the triple white sheeting looks a bit more classy too.

Last time, I brought a small fleece blanket with me.

I will be requesting two extra blankets at check-in next month. We will be getting in very late, like around 11 pm. Hope it won't be a problem.

yep, they did it for sanitary reasons...nothing classy looking about white sheets; the beds look unmade now. I would ask for blankets. I freeze, too.

I like the triple sheeting for sanitary reasons. I would keep calling until I received the blankets I needed to be comfortable, though.

I like the new bedding. We always remove bedspreads or comforters not wanting to touch or use them.

Agreed - the triple sheeting is so clean, looks fresh and updated, and is particularly beneficial for those with allergies. We prefer the look and feel of the new bedding. I can't remember the last time we stayed in a hotel with the old bedspread type things - everyone from Hampton Inn to Kimpton to Four Seasons and Ritz has washable bedding now. While it would be nice to have a white duvet cover over a comforter, I get cold easily, so I'm always wearing warmer pjs anyway.

I ALWAYS, summer or winter, despite curious glances in my direction, carry my own blanket. Also pack socks & sweatshirt. Takes up a lot of room, but
so worth it to be comfortable.

i do agree that i like the fact that all the bedding is easily washable and it does look nicer.

BUT i've been to a number of hotels in the last few years that have done away with heavy bedspreads and they're top sheet is a thin white down comforter so while its easily washable it also keeps you warm.

disney resorts are the only triple sheeting hotels that literally only have sheets.

i'm just surprised that disney does not seem to realize that many people end up cold.

I wonder about that too. And those other hotels I listed definitely have warmer layers with their washable whites. I pack warm pjs, but that would not be an obvious packing list item for Florida travel!
