I get up around 5 or so (most days) just so I can have some peace and quiet. My 8 year old has ADHD and his meds take a good hour to work so the hour after he gets up is awful. I find myself getting up at 4:30 or so just so I can have a minutes peace!

I have an internal body clock that wakes me up every morning before 7:30. I can never sleep later than that, but most days I wake up at 6 with no alarm. It can be rather frustrating when I know that I have only been asleep a few hours. But hey at least I get the first cup of coffee every morning!

I often am up at 5:15 for the same reason. I also often wake up on my own and just go ahead and get up. Today I was up at 4!

Mermaid02,

Because of the winter and not having any personal time or vacation time left, in Nov and Dec I was getting up a 5:30am, to make sure I got to work ontime no matter how early I got there.

Now that it's a new year I won't get up before 7, and won't need to leave until 7:30.

I usually get up around 6 or 6:15 and hop in the shower at 7. It's hard to get up out of bed that early, but I like to sit in the dark in my jammies, drink coffee, and watch the news. It helps me feel much less rushed and tired in the morning.

I could sleep up to an additional hour, but then I'd have to rush around and wouldn't be prepared for my workday.

I'm a stay at home mom so my "work day" starts when my daughter gets up around 7:30. I try to get up around 5 so I can have a quiet cup of coffee, watch the news and try to work out. It's my only alone time I get so I make an effort to do it as often as possible.

Sometimes I sleep in and let my daughter climb into bed. We snuggle and watch the Little Einsteins together

DW & I get up at 5 am every weekday to go walking. Then I read the paper for about 45 minutes before getting ready for work.

I do get up earlier than I "need" to. But i am soooo not a morning person that if I didn't give myself extra cushion of time I would be running around like a mad woman. I also find myself easily distracted in the morning by everything. News, radio, someting that doesn't need to be done that I find the need to do, sometimes washing my hair distracts me and I loose track of time. Dont think that Im setting my alarm way ahead of time either. I am usually awake just lying in bed when my alarm goes off anyways. But I do get up earlier than i need to.

I'm REALLY not a morning person. I give myself alot of extra time. I cna get ready in about 15 minutes (hair, shoes, clothes, everything) but I'd rather not have to. so I give myslf an hour and thirty minutes. I get up, shower, eat/drink something, do my hair, brush my teeth, get dressed, put on my shoes, then I still have awhile left to just sit around.

I set the alarm clock every single day for 5am, even on my days off!!
I love that time to myself to have my coffee, enjoy the quiet, and relax! :)

I do. I'm usually up by 6:00 - even on the weekends!

I work from home so I don't need to organize too much to start my day, but I NEED time in the AM for just me before DD gets up and I have to deal with getting her ready for and driven to school by 8:20.

It takes me about 10 min to take care of the menagerie in my house - just enough time for the coffee to brew, and then I sit and love to watch something I TIVOd the night before. I can't wait until we are done with the re-runs now that the holidays are over!

If for some reason I do sleep in (easier this time of year when it is dark longer) I can't stand having to jump right into dealing with another human!!!

My internal alarm is set for 6-6:30, does not matter if I am sick or want to stay in bed all day. I am just awake and ready to start my day. :sunny:

I'm usually awake by 5 am and watch the news, sometimes I doze for a few minutes... I "sleep in" on the weekends, I'm usually awake by 6 am... the dog needs to go out!!! I try to make him wait until the sun comes up, :sunny: I don't like going out when the coyotes are out!!!! One growled at us one dark morning.... you wouldn't believe how fast we ran back into the house!! Poor puppy didn't even get to go potty that morning!!!!

You guys with your "peace and quiet". Heck I can get that while lying in bed sleeping. :rotfl: I don't get up any earlier than I have to. My older son is usually up and watching tv before me.

I love to get up early, around 5:30/6. If I can get up before my son it gives me a great head start. I can make lunches, coffee, watch the news in peace and DIS all before the morning choas begins.
