Does anyone else get twisted and turned around while touring Epcot?

I was just reading another thread about Epcot, and though I love it, the park always makes me a little nervous, becaus I always get lost, for some reason.

I have noticed it more the last couple of trips, since we have been going when it's hot, and my family is none too thrilled when I say, "Oops - no, let's go back this way!"

Obviously, WS I can figure out! LOL! But Futureworld, and getting to WS sometimes stumps me.

Anyone else Epcot-challenged?

I used to get just a hair turned around on the side of FW where JIYI, the Land, etc is...don't know why...and I don't anymore..but I'd get real confused about where everything was...I hate to even admit to it..

I hit several dead ends trying to take short cuts from TT fast pass machine to Living Seas. I really have trouble with MGM though!

I always have trouble with Future World too, and I have no idea why! it's not like I don't have the map memorized, but there's just something about the layout that throws me for a loop every single solitary time. :lmao:

I'm with ya on this. I like to pat myself on the back for my ability to know where I am, where North, South, East and West are (Kungaloosh!), and the best way to navigate all of WDW. But FW still confuses me from time to time. I study the WDW maps and even the satellite photos, to no avail. Glad it's not just me.

I only know MGM when Super Soap weekend is going on, other than that, I am lost! :confused3 Epcot is easy.

Happens to me every time. Last time I was looking for Club Cool, and I swear I saw the place 4 times before I finally got there. I'd get distracted for a second and *poof* it was gone! Doesn't happen to me in any of the other parks, just Epcot. And it's really sad because I have been going there since it opened. Not so much in the last several years since I moved away from FL, but still....

MGM is very hard to navigate, and we've been lost near Kali. One time we tride to cut through to the epcot entrance from Ellen's Energy Adventure

Hmmm ... if you're near Kali, I'm pretty sure you're not in MGM ... that might be part of the problem ;)

I agree! We always get lost somewhere in Future World. I don't know why it seems to be more difficult than the other parks even with a map out and three other guests with me. I always get a little lost around Club Cool.... so then we go in and get a drink and try to find our way around again. We're leaving in a little over a week and I'm hoping this trip that we won't get lost, even if it's a little lost. It will be too hot to put up with!

I don't necessarity get LOST in Epcot but every time I try to take a shortcut I hit a dead end and have to turn around and go the way I know. I'm with you guys on the whole MGM thing. I always get lost in this park.............even with a MAP!

I've never been lost in Epcot. I find the layout pretty simple and easy to remember. The worst I've ever had it was forgetting which pavilions on on which side of Future World, and what order the countries are in around World Showcase.

Thank you thank you! I'm so glad others find it confusing at times! I don't have this problem at any of the other parks.

DH doesn't understand how come I can always find MouseGears, though.

Any tips from folks who don't get lost?

EPCOT (my favorite of all the parks), MK, and AKL offer me not the slightest problem, vis-a-vis navigation, but, as a few others have said, and, for the life of me, I can't seem to get the hang of MGM. And it is, consequently, my least favorite Disney park. By a wide margin! ::yes::

Yep..I get all mixed up in both Epcot and MGM as well. Thank goodness our 15 yr old DD, knows both parks like the back of her hand..LOL

DW used to get confused but she managed to fix that by talking me into going back more often so she would know where she is going. Now we pretty much know all the parks by heart so we can go anywhere and not get too lost.

My DH did all the navigation once we got into the parks and he said Epcot was the one park he did not have down yet.

I am directionally impaired everywhere I go so ... I am not a good judge at all!! Poor DH will tell me where the bathroom is and how to get back ... or in stadiums, he just goes with me and waits outside -- no wonder I feel like a kid at WDW -- I have my daddy with me -- hee hee :teeth: !!

Hope to become less Epcot-challenged on our next trip!
