Does anyone else get the "willies" thinking of a verandah stateroom?

I don't like sun, water or heights, but I love my Disney cruises - go figure!!!! We've tossed around the idea of getting a room with a verandah, but I can't even get close to the outside railings without feeling weak in the knees. Anyone else feel this way? Or is it just me? Would a metal verandah be better than plexiglass?

Thanks for your ideas.

I know how you feel! I get that same sensation when standing at a railing. I don't get bothered while sitting and enjoying the view though. I would NOT get the metal wall room because you'd have to stand. With the plexi you can sit and look straight out, not straight down. But, if you hate sun and wind and the height, why not just get an ocean view and spend the extra money on some inside pursuits!

If you only have 2-3 in your party look into the Navigator's verandah. You are more enclosed which shield you from the sun and wind. They have a metal bottom. I find that when sitting on the padded bench I can look out at the sea, but since you aren't looking straight down you don't get the feeling of how high up you are.

nope, love those verandah rooms. Sitting out there in the morning drinking our coffee watching the sun rise. DS6 and I also enjoy looking down and watching all the docking activities when you enter a port.

Only at night! I was out there and since it was overcast there was no moon or stars and it was pitch black. Just scary. I though "gee, I could jump overboard and no one would know". It was real scary. It's not as bad if the moon is out.

My thoughts exactly! The navigator's verandah feels very secure.

I am scared of heights but the verandah does nto bother me. Neither does flying. Go figure those. But you get me on a tall building and I freak out if I have to go to the windows. I was scared have to death at the World Trade Center an more so at the Empire State building.

We have a room with a verandah booked for our cruise but my wife HATES heights and being in the middle of the ocean. She's vowed not to even step foot on it!!!! Hopefully I can get her out there.

I am terrified of heights! Can't explain it.
But I absolutely love my verandah. It doesn't bother me at all. I am fasinated watching the waves go by and watching the activies on the dock in port.

Sitting out there relaxing with a cup of coffee or a good book is the best and well worth it.
