Does anyone else get over-emotional about the magic of Disney?

I'm talking watery eyes just THINKING about the wonderment my kids will get to experience, and full blown tears streaming down my face with every commercial, youtube vlog, etc. that I catch! The stress of the "real world" must just make me crave seeing the innocence of childhood and remembering my own. They grow so fast! Can't wait for the weight of the world to fall away as I cross into the magic! 254 days to go!

Yeah... Me too. Which is funny, since my first trip to Disney was probably my most miserable memory from childhood (my grandparents had built up Disney magic/happiest place on earth, and my undiagnosed bipolar brother was on a downswing.)

I'm pretty sure I'll enjoy it more now, knowing that cast members are ALL there because they want to be (thinking of a college program person who was a janitor at DTD.) No one is there just because they had nothing better to do. No functional difference, but it's there. It's important to me that the people I interact with have a good day, and knowing that they most likely aren't painting on smiles for my benefit is nice.

You know, I was the exact same way before our most recent trip. Crying at every commercial, video, etc. imagining what it would be like seeing my kids experience WDW for the first time. I went out and bought waterproof mascara assuming I'd be a mess of tears the whole trip. But when we actually got there, I think I actually only cried once (during the park opening show at MK.) I was so busy taking care of the kids (1 and 3) that I didn't have time to stop and think about the magic going on around us.

I get emotional driving under the Walt Disney World sign and seeing the castle...every. single. time.

I get emotional every time I watch a Disney movie. We're talking, tears 3 minutes into the Lion King. I cry at Wishes. I cry driving through the gates. I cry at the beauty and the beast show in HS.

Also, I have no kids. LOL. So them "experiencing the magic" is clearly not what gets me. I'm just a very highly emotional person. And a big Disney fan. :thumbsup2

Oh my Lord, thank you, I thought it was just me! I cry every time I watch a Disney movie, listen to a song from the movies, I got out of the movie theater with poofy eyes after watching Frozen, I am a total mess!!!!

Never fear, you are not alone!!! Lol :rotfl:

I guess I'll be the person that is different... Nope. I like Disney, we always have a great time, but I feel like attaching that much emotion onto a planned trip is almost inviting a letdown in reality, when you get there. (b/c nothing is perfect,in spite of emotional songs and clever lighting and fun stories...) Not that it's wrong to get all excited, but if I did,and then things didn't go exactly like my imagination fueled fantasy pictured it,I might feel sad, and I like to feel more relaxed in general....:dance3: Though I know the commercials are intended to create emotional feelings...... so I guess they're doing a good job!

My eyes are getting watery right now. I am too emotional! LOL!

Yes! I'm a huge Disney "sap" but my latest emotional trigger are the "reveal" videos...you know the ones, where the significant other/friends/parents/grandparents reveal that the unsuspecting party is going to DISNEY!!!! Oh my word! I sit and bawl like a baby!

To make a long story short ;), Disney entertainment (some of the movies, characters, shows, etc.), not necessarily just WDW trips, can make me feel emotional because much of it resonates with my childhood and the experiences I had.

I love DW very much. I do get teary eyed if the trip has been too long ago.

Well, I get excited about the trips & have a great time while there...but no, I don't get all teary eyed. I've actually seen parents (this happens more often then you would believe!) become furious and scold their kids when they don't get the reaction they expected/hoped for upon announcing a surprise WDW trip.

I'm glad I'm not the only one, especially after becoming a mom, I've become such an emotional person, especially when it comes down to Disney, I cried the first time I went with my mom, I especially cried when we took DS for the first time in 2014, his expressions meant everything to me! He was mesmerized by everything, I cried idk how many times during that trip, and now being a mom of two, we took our 3yr old and 10 month old this past November to Disney world, and I cried again! Disney world just makes me cry lol, DS is on the spectrum and Disney is his happy place :)

I cry. I get emotional. I'm not ashamed.

Disney has been a security blanket for me growing up. It was one of the few places I was allowed to just be a kid. It was because of my love for Disney that I met my husband (here on the DIS actually!). I met one of my closest friends due to the DCP. I got married at Disney World. We did solo trips with each of my bonus kids at Disney to bond with them.

Disney is a huge part of my life, and I'm glad I have it. And yes it makes me emotional. :)

Yes yes yes. Ive always loved Disney. But since having kids I'm even worse. We only get to visit say once every three or four years now, as uk flights cost way too much for a family of five, but I think that makes it even more emotional. If I see the castle on an ad, I'm a gonner. My hubby laughs, but he knows it really is the best time of our lives when we are out there as a family, no worries about life and illnesses and just having fun as a family. Disney know how to bring the magic. My girls even say to me, "mummy we'll hold your hand when we go into the magic kingdom coz we know you'll be so happy you'll be crying". I love Disney, my hubby loves Disney and all three of my girls have grown up to love it too... Long may they be that way :).

Gotta join the bandwagon:) I get misty eyed when we exit the ME into our favorite resort, which means we are finally on our vacation. My husband gets teary eyed when we first walk down Main St. at the MK. We both are in our 60's and never know if this is our last time to be able to go to Disney(due to health issues). So, we treasure every moment, enjoy doing our favorites, and love to try new experiences:) We treat each visit as our "last", and go once a year til we can't. We love the Disney bubble, forgetting the outside world for a while, and just enjoying the magic. Special:)
