I see that Disney now allows you to book your dining reservations 6 months in advance. At the same time, the park hours are posted 6 months in advance as well. I want to plan which parks I go to based on which have extra magic hours each day and then book my restaurants accordingly and at the 6 month window. I find this a bit of a challenge because let's say my trip begins June 30th(arrival). If I go to Magic Kingdom on the 1st, then I want to book the breakfast at the castle at the 6 month window but they may at best have the park hours information just on the day that I call to book and might not have it posted until later in the day. Does anyone else find this annoying or know how to work around this? Like knowing in advance which days in July will have extra magic hours at each park? I think Disney should have to post the park hours including extra magic hours at least a full week before the booking window for restaurants to allow for more planning. What do you think?
It is challenging, but you really need to keep in mind that the reservations for MOST places are NOT going to fill up 180 days in advance. I called 120 out for CRT and had my pickings of times. So certainly waiting a day or two is NOT going to make it so that you don't get resies!
So, my suggestion is to make sure that you do make the ADR's most important to you (or most popular venues), then worry about the rest later. OR - You can make them all and make changes later when adjusting for the park times. I hear that the larger your party, the harder to get the ADR time you want. For CRT there is 6 of us, so that may have played a part in why we didn't get more time choices. Good luck, don't stress and have fun planning!
I called every day the week before CHristmas to make our ADR's and had no problems with getting the times I wanted. Even PSB. But we're also traveling with a just 3 yr old so we have to do our dinners no later than 7 or 7:30 pm so we can all have an enjoyable meal. It is still frustrating not to know excatly what the park hours are but since we are mostly doing EMH in the morning and very few if any late nights, it wasn't too big of an issue. And the only breakfast we planned was PSB and I was able to get 1st seating at 8:30 am. A far as doing CRT, I think if that's a MAJOR want, you pretty much just call 180 days out at 7am, request 1st time available and be happy you were able to get an ADR, regardless of park hours!!
