I am totally inundated with people inviting me to their Creative Memories or cropping parties. I must be the only person in America who doesn't crop. I don't have anything against them - more power to them, and I think the results are beautiful, but it just isn't my thing and it is everywhere I go: My mom's group, the Y, playgroups, etc. I guess it's the newest "in" thing?

Yep. I'm not into crafts and have no interest in the jewelry, fake purse or skin care parties either.

I actually don't even know what a cropping party is. :confused3

Ewwww. I don't do stuff like that either. I agree that it's beautiful when it's finished, but I'm just not crafty at all. I bought some stuff from CM and now I have to sell it at my garage sale or give it to my SIL who loves stuff like that. I wouldn't go to a party I was invited to if I'm not into it. What I found out is that it's a big waste of money if you're not going to do it. :rotfl:

I don't scrapbook either. I really like books so I am in a bookclub. Maybe you could invite them to something that you are into when they ask you to scrapbook.

Must be an outsider! Never heard of cropping or Creative Memories. Is is like scrap-booking?

I kept scrapbooks for my babies but nothing like they do now and my children aren't that old.

I was invited to a CM party a few months back and spent over $100 and the stuff is still in the top of my closet yet to be touched. I'm just not crafty.

That being said, Send me an invite to The Pampered Chef and I am all over that!

Actually it was the "in" thing around here about 5-10 years ago. The new "in" party here is jewelry. I can't go to those. I make jewelry so I know I'd sit there and think "I could make that for $3, and those earrings for less than $2..."

I didn't get it at first either but I grew into the idea of scrapbooking. I don't get my supplies from creative memories though because I think it seems to be on the high $ side. I have a tendancy to be a bit of a crafty person though so it fits me well...and I love to take pictures. It is therapeutic for me to take time for myself and make something I am proud to show others.

Scrapping is a little like Disney...some people ""get it" and others don't.

Another person who doesn't scrapbook. I have friends and family who do and their stuff is beautiful and I love to look at it...I just have no desire to make it myself!

The DSIL's are really into it, and DM wants to, but I'd rather just put it in a photo album. But hey, if it floats your boat...

Sorry..I think I have gone to 10-15 Creative Memories things over the past 5 years. But I started scrapbooking when my kids were little. I have no memories from my childhood, and I would like to pass memories on to my children. But if it is not your thing...no problem. ;)

I do like the Market Day Gourmet parties, or Silpada jewelry parties. The jewelry can get expensive, but they do have things you don't see every day.
