Does anyone else feel guilty about doing day to day things

I was wondering if I'm the only one that gets a guilty feeling from doing normal day to day stuff.

For example, when I got up and took a shower this morning, I felt bad for taking one knowing that the people in LA, and MS don't have any. Also when I got into the fridge this afternoon to get a soda and a snack, I felt guilty that while I already at lunch, hear I am getting a snack, while some haven't eaten in 6 days.

I don't feel guilty--but I think about it each and every time and think of those who are doing without.

:(

I don't feel guilty about the day to day stuff but I have a big trip to Playa Del Carmen coming up in less then two weeks. Its all inclusive and I feel kind of funny going when I know so many will be without even the basics. My best friends daughter lost her house and is living with her mom right now and that just tears me up. But just like after 9/11 we have to figure out a way to go on living.

Lisa loves Pooh,

I guess that's is what I was trying to say. Not so much guilty as thinking about those who don't have it.

I don't know about guilty, but I do feel very sad, I've been coming here to the DIS reading and "talking" about Katrina and normally I am usually reading the Theme Parks and Resort boards planning a trip. -- I haven't been on those boards much at all since Wednesday...because it feels too strange to be thinking about a trip to Disney.

I don't feel guilty and I live here in south Louisiana. Although I too am very sad! Today I'm keeping my sanity by being on the internet a while. I still have bills to pay, garbage to take out, football games to watch. I guess maybe it's somewhat easier here for me to feel that way because I have been physically able to help people. I got my lights back Friday and my water works, but I'm very grateful.

Life goes on no matter what happens, even those affected by the storm. Many are trying to find some "normalcy" to help them cope Don't feel guilty, just enjoy life! If you can help then do what you can.

I feel sad, too, bit there is nothing else to do but go on.

Feeling guilty that I am going back to school when some may not be going back for who knows how long

I'm feeling a little guilty about leaving tomorrow. We've worked hard for our vacation and it comes well deserved but those people have worked so hard for a life and home that will never be the same to them.

I feel guilty. I also feel grateful that I am safe and have shelter, transport and food and drink and that I should not take things for granted.

I also know my feeling guilty does nothing to help anyone.

Yes, I feel guilty. I have a house to clean and three children to take care of, and a business to run, and all of that seems so petty and insignificant now.

I'm with many of you--not guilty but sad as I go about my day to day duties. I live on Long Island, and we've dodged a few storms in my lifetime. So I know it could've been us.

I do feel guilty as I continue planning for my trip at the end of the month.

I am inconvenienced right now since we have just begun a long planned-for kitchen and bathroom remodelling. To get water I have to put a cup under the bathtub faucet. The microwave is in the living room. Boxes piled all over and a little pathway between them to get around. I just can't feel inconvenienced or uncomfortable about my situation since everytime I sigh about how awkward it is to brush my teeth using the bathtub faucet and drain, or to wash my breakfast bowl, I think about those who don't have running water at all, who don't even have a bathtub to run water into, who don't have a microrwave, who don't have a living room, who not only don't have boxes to have to walk through, who don't have anything but the clothing they are wearing.

So every time I start feeling uncomfortable, I think sadly of those who are suffering, not just a little uncomfortable.

As far as feeling guilty, I don't think we need to feel guilty unless we feel that we should be doing something for the victims but aren't.

Yes. My family will be in the middle of a nice dinner of a big laugh, and I just stop and wonder if anyone needs water or help. I feel guilty, but I say a little prayer and go on about my life.

I didn't until I went grocery shopping today. While I was walking through the store, I couldn't help but feel guilty about filling up my cart while so many have been hungry (and continue to be hungry) for this past week.

It is the same feeling when you lose a loved one, but you have to go on, even if you don't want to.
