Just asking as DH and I celebrate today 28 years of knowing each other! We met on a Monday evening, about 8.30pm, May 17th 1982, we were married one year and one week later in May 1983:love:
We always remember, send each other a card and go out for a meal. We have had some tough times with family over the last 18 months but we are a strong couple, always there for each other. I love him very much!:love::love:
Some people think it's a strange anniversary to celebrate but without it we wouldn't be where we are today!
We are expecting our first grandchild in June - that will make us feel really old!

T :hippie:

:yay: Congratulations on the anniversary that you both met :yay:

We don't celebrate the date we started going out, but we're not likely to forget as it was Christmas Eve :santa:

Congratulations on your soon-to-be grandchild!

I finally agreed to date DH on 29th July 1989. We don't celebrate it because he would never remember and we're not very romantic. :rotfl:

Although we don't celebrate it me and DW met for the first time on 28th August 1971. Not that neither of us remember much about it as I was only 9 months old and Elaine was 2 days :rotfl:

Our parents were very good friends back then and we grew up together as a result. Result :thumbsup2

We don't usually make a thing of our 'when we met' anniversary, but it's our 20th this year and we're not married (so no 'normal' anniversary) so will be making a bit of a fuss about it for once. Namely, ash willing, by going to WDW ;)

We always celebrate our "1st date" anniversary on October 17th - this year it'll be our 32nd!!! :lovestruc

we dont celebrate the day we met. my husband and i used to work together and to be honest i doubt either of us can remember when we met exactly.
:rotfl:

Its our 6th wedding anniversary this week but we like to celebrate our 1st date anniversary too. we went out for 10 years before we got married and i like to celebrate them :cutie:

I dont think its a strange anniversary to celebrate at all :cutie:

Congratulations on your anniversary.

We always make a point of remembering (31st October) it but not really with flowers & presents as we save that for our Wedding Anniversary.

We celebrate this anniversary but probably because we were not marrie for ten years and it was a good excuse to celebrate "us" !
We did continue to celebrate last year and had 2 anniversarys !!

We celebrate ours every year :thumbsup2

It's easy to remember for me (20th August 2003), as I had won a competition on Radio 1 to see one of my favourite bands in the world Foo Fighters play the tiny mean fiddler venue in London that night.
On the train home I got chatting to the most gorgeous girl I'd ever seen, who was on her way home from a Delays gig.
I was a smitten kitten from that night on!

We tried to but then had too many days to celebrate as the two of us could never remember the date, it has ranged from 17th-26th April. After many disagreements we decided on 24th April. At least we agreed on the month. :rotfl2:

We used to celebrate when we first got together (1st June, day after her birthday, god I was a clever 16 year old :lmao:) but since we got married we only 'celebrate' our wedding anniversary :)

:goodvibes

Congrats - Me and dbf celebrated our 3 years since we met (and became a couple) on Saturday :goodvibes

We spent the day together playing mini golf and bowling, then went to a teppenyaki resaurant - we both love japanese food but had never been to this style of resaurant, and I had really wanted to go to Teppan Edo last trip to Florida so this was a great time to go.

I hope in the future if we do get married etc we will still celebrate the 15 May, but it might be easier for me than him as im the one with the memory like an elephant, and he's a bit like a goldfish :rotfl:

DH and I will have been together 10 years this September 21st, hoped to be in WDW to celebrate but it was cheaper to go just after. We normally celebrate as we've only just got married, but maybe after this year we'll stop.

oh yes....any excuse for an extra glass of vino :lmao:

we celebrate the date we first met, 21st January 1987, 23 years it was this year

our engagement, 21st January 1989, 21 years,

our wedding, 25th May 1991, 19 years

Yes we celebrate it more than our real wedding anniversary.

17 years this November. Only married 8 years - wedding anniversary next week, would've forgotton but for this thread!

My wedding date was just picked because we already had a holiday to Washington and NY booked that we used as our honeymoon.

We went to Disney last November and had anniversary pins because well it was our real anniversary imo.

We have 2 anniversaries, the date we started going out, and our wedding anniversary. We have been together 19 years at the end of August, and married 10 years on 4th July. To be honest, we don't do a lot for either of them, but I suppose the August one means the most to me, as I had had my eye on him for a while before he gave in!:rotfl:

I think it seems more romantic somehow to celebrate the day of meeting more than the wedding day! Our wedding day was a very low key affair, reception in parent's living room costing about £50 to cater, rings were £35 and £50, my blue skirt suit was £45, his grey suit was about £90, I had new shoes and bag from Dorothy Perkins, my uncle took the wedding photos as a present, no honeymoon, I was back to work on the Tuesday (BH monday!) but DH had a week off as he worked in the Civil Service at the time!! We had no car, telephone, second hand bed,:rotfl:, but we had bought our own house. The sun shone - happy days!!:cutie:
