We do. We go out to dinner at "better" places at least once or twice a month... sometimes more. Sometimes we take the kids, sometimes not. One of our goals when we adopted our kids was to ensure that we could take them anywhere and if that means a multi-course better restaurant, then they'd learn to sit still and behave. We've just learned to take activities for them so they don't become bored and disruptive. People at the country club have told us that they couldn't believe how well behaved the kids were.
We took them out 2 weeks ago to a 4-diamond restaurant. While they "yucked" at everything on the menu and selected BLTs from the bar menu, my DD had escargot for her appetizer... she's 9 and ate them all up, except for the 1 she let me taste.
The next night, we went out with friends to a BYOB restaurant that the owner of which is supposed to be a nephew of Peter Luger. It is a fabulous restaurant and is noisy, like The Palm. Everyone was making fun of me when I wanted to listen to the last second of the Penn State game in the car. They all waited outside for me. Yep, I got to hear PSU lose to MI. Then, no one would believe me. I told them only because the parking attendant asked me who won. My response to my dinner companions was, "why would I lie to the valet?"
