Does anyone 'darn' socks anymore

I darn them all the time :thumbsup2 Actually, I use a bit stronger version of the word. You know, when you can't find it's mate, you just gotta say something. :rotfl:

I macrame my socks out of dog hair.

Nothing like a little hair of the dog to keep you warm ;)

Yes, I still darn those darn socks, although its more like sewing than weaving when I do it. At least the hole is closed and my toes stay warm.

Well, I toss a shirt if it gets a wee little hole in it, EVEN if it's on the seam, so you can bet, it's a lost art with me.

I don't think I have a needle and/or thread in my entire house.

You mean, "Darn, my socks have a hole, I gotta throw them out?"

Yeah. :goodvibes

Oh, and I like your Toby quote. Greatest thing since sliced bread, that man.

I can remember my mom darning socks even when I was in high school (o.k. I'm not that old - graduated in 1984). My dad had a great executive job and made big $$$. I don't know why she did it. I finally had to ask her to quit and just get me some new ones...how embarrassing in the locker room after gym class to be the only one with darned socks :teeth:
