Does anyone camp at Fort Wilderness and not go to the parks?

I am trying to plan a family reunion. I was thinking of having everyone camp at FW and just enjoy the resorts. Swimming, lake, playground, fishing, basketball, access to tennis at other resorts, great restaurants.... Seems like a good time if we just rent a camper or two for cooking. Any thoughts? Anyone done this? We are a group of 24. 6 families with kids ages 3-10. Thanks.

we have family that spend time at the camp ground and not the parks. For me I would not be able to stay out of the parks. I love my family but knowing Disney was a boat ride away would be testing our relationship. Just kidding I would do the reunion and add on some days for the kids . We did a reunion in 2008 and we did the camp fire and the wagon ride.

If you want to camp and enjoy the outdoors...Why would you go to Disney. This country has awesome National Parks. Go to Yellowstone, you won't regret it!!

We have lots of criteria, one being inexpensive direct flights. Our group is coming from all over the east and gulf coasts. So Yellowstone is about as far as we can get from most of us and stay in the US.
