Does anyone buy DVC to stay in studios only?

hey I have been a member since 93 - so tell me where I can stay on dvc property for $33.92 a night - $4.24*8 points....

some of us like studios - there is nothing wrong with staying in one....

We've been members for four years now, six trips, always in a studio for the 2 of us. I'm completely comfortable with the studio. Sure...it's a glorified hotel room...nothing wrong with that! I'm on vacation, I don't do laundry. I can pack one suitcase for a 14 day trip and not do any laundry. I don't cook when I'm on vacation, either. The microwave, toaster and fridge are PERFECT for my needs. Mainly for chilling and reheating leftovers and storing sodas/waters, plus the occasional toasted bagel. We use a full-size bed at home, so the studio bed seems big to us.

I've visited friends who were in one-bedrooms, and most of the space seems wasted, particularly the full kitchen. I think the jacuzzi tub might be a fun splurge, and the laundry might be convenient, but I'd only use both once or twice on the entire trip.

We usually are out by 8am and back around midnight every day of the trip, so the extra space is a waste. As long as there aren't suitcases on the floor, (we store them in the closet), or bags of Disney merchandise piled in the corners (they go in the closet, too), or toiletries all over the sink counter (they fit in the drawers and cupboards underneath) I'm happy.

I would actually like not having the TV, we never turn it on during the entire vacation!

Love the studios! Just me and DH...Why buy to stay in a studio???? It's still less expensive!!! Two, 7 night stays in a deluxe resort...Do the math!!! So far, in the 2 1/2 years since we bought in, it would have cost us about $4000 each year, not to mention this year with the two-bedroom and 1 studio, we are getting very near to using up the original amount that we spent. So for $800 a year, we get to go to WDW and stay in a deluxe resort room (plus the mini kitchen)...WE'RE HAPPY!!

I dont mind the Studios although my wife got the 1 bedroom bug and that pretty well did it in.

Plus we do spend a good amount of time in our rooms relaxing so it it okay.

Maybe it is just me but the studios in BWV look muhc bigger then the other resorts?

my (now) DF and I bought in Feb of this year and never even thought of a studio.... I stayed in a 1 bedroom in May with my daughter and loved the space...after spending all day surrounded by the masses, I enjoyed having my own "space"...my DF agrees with me and we have a 2 bedroom for our Oct/Nov trip with his Mom..

I also figure in the other costs ...AP, meals, airfare, tips, the trinkets you don't need - swear you won't buy but end up buying anyway! :rotfl2: and realize we can only go 2 times a year anyway ...Sunday through Friday and our points cover it nicely....

could we stay in a studio? sure but we don't desire it.... might we one day due to necessity? sure, never say never!

My DH and I have 200 points. We did not buy to stay in studios but that is where we stay. :teeth: And we go in value season for our long stays. It is only the 2 of us so those 200 points go a very long way this way. :thumbsup2

That's the exact same way we look at it. Only two of us. Studios are less points so we get more visits

absolutely! We bought a small re-sale contract which allows us to stay for at least a week each year in a studio. This works great for us- we're never in the room anyway except to sleep. I know alot of people prefer and need the larger units, but no complaints about studios here. Do what works for you. We like it cause we had the $$ to afford to pay cash upfront, the yearly fees are affordable, and we can enjoy Disney World every year without having to stress on hotel rates, etc.
Hope to see you there sometime! :cheer2:

We have enough points to stay in larger accommodations, but we prefer to stay in studios and go more than once a year. Most of the time, it is just two of us in the studio and we are very comfortable. We don't really spend that much time in the room and we eat all our meals out. We did stay in a 1BR when we went with another family member and loved the huge bedroom and the jacuzzi tub, but I wouldn't use the extra points for it. If I cooked meals on vacation, though I would definitely prefer the 1BR. I think it just depends on how you like to vacation.

I bought enough points to be able to stay in a 1 bedroom at VB but when we go to WDW all we need is a studio because we never are there and use the dining plan so we don't eat in the room at all.
