Does anyone actually like Biergarten?

I really wanted to try Biergarten on our next trip, but the responses in the threads that I have read lately have been quite negative. Any Biergarten lovers out there? If so, why?

And if not, I'm sure I will hear why too! ;)

Thanks!

I don't know, it looked fun when we walked by. I would have went in but...we had just eaten burgers and sundaes at BNC. :thumbsup2

I guess nobody likes German food. :rotfl:

We love it at the Biergarten. Good food & a good show. You do have to sit with other guests, but this has never been a problem for us--even though we are a somewhat quiet, keep to ourselves kind of couple. Can't wait to go back!

We ate there last Dec with the Candlelight package. First time and we really enjoyed it. The music was great and we sat with a really nice couple of DVCers from NJ. DH and I are both of German background so we were familiar with most of the food.

I love this place. Eat there every trip, and have plans to go again in December. Maybe its more nostalgia than anything else, having a German grandfather, I had a lot of this type of food growing up, and this is the only place i can get a lot of it now. Plus you can't beat the atmosphere. Get to meet new people and know them really well with the seating arrangements. Plus they have giant beers. What else could you ask for?

We eat at the Biergarten every trip! The food is wonderful and the buffett is somewhat cheaper compared to other buffetts on Disney property.

ME!! I love it!! In fact .. its the first meal we are having when we get to Disney in Dec!

Okay, that's it, I am headed for Biergarten. I can't believe that not one negative review has been posted thus far. Let's toast our steins to Biergarten!

I used to eat at Akershus on every trip but that has changed to the point that I don't want to go anymore. So on this last (our 9th) trip to WDW we decided to give the Biergarten a try. We come from German decendants so thought it might be a good fit. :) It is not the same as Akershus but we really liked it and will return next time. The food (like the German food in our family) is not exotic or radical (unless you think the saurkraut on a couple items is exotic). The atmosphere was fun though we did not get any lind of entertainment while we were there.

We LOVE Biergarten! We ate there the last night of our Honeymoon and have talked about it and how great it was ever since! We are actualy going there our first night in our Xmas trip!

We love the Biergarten! Then again ... we're from Wisconsin home of bratwurst and beer :drinking1. I like the salads at the buffet, and I LOVE the spatzel. The wusrt are also pretty good and I also really like the mushroom sauce. We usually go for lunch when the price is cheaper. You miss out on only one or two entrees (Sauerbraten being one of them).

The only minus, IMO is the "family style" seating. We always get seated with shy tea-totallers. We're outgoing and we order a liter of beer each. Both groups end up looking at the other sideways. Look! They're drinking cola {{SHUDDER}}! Look! They're drinking beer {{IN FRONT OF THEIR CHILD}}!

Biergarten is one of our family favorites. When I have guests I always take them to Biergarten.

You'll have to come eat with us then! DH will look sideways at your beer but only to see if he can steal it form you! :rotfl: HOY HOY HOY!!

It's always on our "must-do" list! Great show, great food and terrific beer! What's not to like?

We have reservations at Biergarten on our upcoming trip. I got glowing reviews from my coworkers so we decided to give it a try. We love German things though, since my Grandpa was from Germany. I am really looking forward to Biergarten.

We also end up being the only ones singing Ein Prosit at our table. Of course, the beer helps loosen up inhibitions ;). Considering how well I sing, I suspect our table mates wished I would have stuck with soda.
