We will be staying at the POFQ this December and wondering if we should bring our swimsuits?? Do they heat the pools to a comfortable level?? :cold:
Thanks!! :flower:

They do heat the pools and there are often folks swimming...us included a couple January's ago!

Yes. The pools are heated to about 80 degrees. We always swim in the pools there during that time of year unless it's an unusually chilly day.

Yes. My crazy son and husband went in the AKL pool when it was 50 outside.....burrrrrr.

I am a 50-something grown up kid who doesn't like to be cold, and I've been in the pool at WDW the past two Decembers. In 2002, it was just too cold. It was cold enough that I had on a hat and gloves at MGM while viewing the Osborne Lights, and I was still freezing. In 2003, it was actually hot most days (the first two weeks of December), and last year it was very warm at the beginning of our trip, but the day we left it was really cold. This year we're heading down in November, and I plan to hit the pool at least two of the three days we'll be there.

we live in a tropical climate and typically don't go swimming unless it'a about 90 degrees out...
but one december we were there and the weather was in the mid to high 80's the entire time!!...and yes we went swimming...AND to the water park....we had a great time.....

of course the next year it was so cold my kids had to wear their snow parkas, mittens and balaklavas.....

so you never really know what the weather's going to be in december...

We swam every day when we went in December of 2003. We also went to Blizzard beach. Of course we are not from a tropical climate so anything in the mid 70's or higher is swimming weather for us.

We all swam at the WL pool during the last week of December 2003. In fact, it was close to hot everyday ( mid 80's ) and there was a bit of sunburn in our group.
:flower:  :flower:

Thanks everyone!!! :goodvibes I guess we will diffinately be packing our suits. Serpent slide here we come! All 10 of us!! :jumping1:

Thats the wonderful thing about living in Florida, one day it will 50 outside and the next day it might be 78 in December. I can remember swimming on Christmas in years past !

When we were there second week of December 2003, the weather was cool some of the days (high 60's, low seventies) but it did get up to the high seventies/low eighties a few days so we did swim. We are from the northeast, so anything above 75 is swimming weather. Most of the nights got pretty chilly (but it was only downright cold one night).

Coming from New England... as long as the water is warm I'll swim anytime!

My DW and I go to WDW every Jan. for the marathon weekend and we swim in the mornings. It is nice to go down to the pool when there is no one ele there. This allows us to swim laps wthout getting in anyone elses way. It is also nice to be in the pool when it is cool and foggy out. :earsboy:

My kids will swim in any kind of weather as long as the pool is warm. As for me, any weather in the high 60's and up is swimming weather. Hopefully we will get some decent weather in December because my kids are looking forward to being able to swim outside at that time of year. They think it is a big deal.

We were there last December. Although the air temperatures were a bit chilly, we did still swim. We spent a day at Typhoon Lagoon and the CM's had on jackets and gloves. The water is heated, just grab a big towel when you get out and run for your room.
