Does anybody grocery shop once per month?

Neither is expensive. Around here, you can just pick them up down the baking isle of the grocery store. You can also order it online here: http://store.honeyvillegrain.com/vitalwheatglutencan.aspx

They may look expensive here, but this is the price for a huge #10 can and you only use 2-3 TB for 2 loaves of bread. I bake bread every week for my family of 7 and a can like this will last me a year. I have found them in smaller containers at the grocery store. Good luck!

Thanks for the info. I'll keep my eyes open for these at the regular grocery store, if I don't find them then I'll order online. Thanks again!

I'd love to shop only once a month but I live in an apartment and my freezer is tiny. I buy a few things in bulk when it's on sale but I have to watch how much room I have at the time. What I have started doing is fixing things we don't normally eat so I can have more alternatives when things go on sale. For example, I hate fish but I did baked tilapia over the weekend b/c it was on sale and liked it. Going to do it again tonight b/c it's still on sale and fits in well with my new diet.

I shop once a month.
I go to BJ's (wholesale club), and have a ton of coupons and a list handy. In get all meals for the month including breakfast and lunch. I freeze all meats, cheese, and bread. My kids don't eat a lot of salad, so I buy enough for 1 or 2 meals that week, then we eat root vegetables or frozen for the rest of the month. I also buy a lot of dried and frozen fruit. About once every 7-8 days either DH or I will stop in to the store and purchase:
Milk
bananas
orange juice (we can't fit what we would drink in a month with our fridge)
That's it!
I spend about $600 per month for our family of 8, and I save about $150 each month I shop at BJ's.
I DON'T cook once a month, I cook nightly, but we do have a big pantry and a stand up freezer in the pantry which is helpful.

I just ordered the book Cut your grocery bill in half. I can't wait to get it. I am a pretty organized person so I'm hoping I can follow what they say to do. We spend $350 every 2 weeks on groceries and other household stuff so I would love to cut that in half. I willing to try anything to save money!

You'd miss to many good coupons limiting yourself to shopping only one day a month. I go weekly - sometimes I go every 3 days to different stores to take advantage of their coupons (combined with the ones I clipped) that week. But I also shop for several months in advance if I can find a good enough deal.
