Does anybody else remember light-up Christmas pins?

When I was a child (late 60's to early 70's), my sister and I used to get a light-up Christmas pin every year to wear on our winter coats.

These pins had a little light bulb, turned on by pulling a small cord with a tiny bell on the end.

I remember having a Rudolph and a Santa (their noses lit up) and a Christmas tree (the star on top lit).

They were so cute! I wish they still made them. I swear I'd wear one now.

Wow, bringing back memories -- I had them too. I still have an electronic one of Rudolph -- his nose lights up & it plays Rudolph's song...& I still wear it sometimes.

yes, yes, yes...we loved those pins. Does anyone remember the Avon perfume girl ones? Hmmm...they were little girls {maybe 2" high}, and the head lifted up and there was perfumed cream underneath?

I still have some of the Avon pins... I have a rabbit one (white with pink green skates), and a gingerbread girl one as well.

Oh wow! Cindy you are so lucky to still have them. I remember the gingerbread girl pin! That is so sweet about your grandmom. Isn't it funny to think of all the gifts that were propably given, yet it's the little stuff like these pins that you remember most fondly. I really loved them, and um......would be very happy to get one again.

I remember both kinds. I had that Santa pin also! Ah...sweet memories.

I remember having the cat Avon pin. The boy who lived next door to me gave it to me for my birthday. It wasn't what I told him to get me. (My mother overheard me tell him what to bring to me for my party. Yes, I'll never forget that birthday! I probably didn't sit down at it. )

The girl pin has a dress, but its the same thing.. I love my rabbit one as well... its a rabbit (looking suspiciously like the Trix Rabbit) his bottom half swings, and it has pink green skates on... I'm sure its around here somewhere...


I've seen the Avon pins occasionally in thrift stores...
