When I was a child (late 60's to early 70's), my sister and I used to get a light-up Christmas pin every year to wear on our winter coats.
These pins had a little light bulb, turned on by pulling a small cord with a tiny bell on the end.
I remember having a Rudolph and a Santa (their noses lit up) and a Christmas tree (the star on top lit).
They were so cute! I wish they still made them. I swear I'd wear one now.

I remember the gingerbread girl pin! That is so sweet about your grandmom.
(My mother overheard me tell him what to bring to me for my party. Yes, I'll never forget that birthday!
I probably didn't sit down at it.
