Does anybody else NOT like watching the parades?

I try... I really do. I sit down every year with a cup of tea and plan on watching the parade... any of them. I can't do it. I never make it more then 10 minutes before I have to change the channel.

Thats the joke of the family. I don't do parades or award shows! I hate the parades on TV.

The funny thing about it I am the only one in our family who use to march in parades in High School and the only one who watches enough TV to know any of the people getting the awards on the awards shows...... Maybe there is a conection?????

I'm not much of a parade person. Exceptions: The Rose Bowl Parade and Tapestry of Nations. Other than that, eh, whatever.

Holy cow! My thoughts exactly! Just give me floats, balloons and marching bands. All the singing and yapping make me find something else to do.

We watched Macy's this year because DS's HS band was in it. Otherwise we'd definitely give it a miss. Parades are suppose to be bands and balloons and floats, not lipsyncing and bad broadway revivals.

the side of the road...just waitin for some stuff to go by

The Macy's parade is the only one I can stand watching on tv(besides the Disney Christmas one, of course).. it's mostly because of the Broadway shows - but this year since they were all at the beginning(stupid rain) I did change the channel quite a few times...

I don't like parades either. On TV or otherwise. Except Disney parades. I LOVE Disney parades! All of them!

Disney fireworks are my pick too. We never do the local type fireworks. Sometimes I watch the 4th of July ones on TV with the Boston Pops.
But Disney ones...over and over and over.
Esp. Illuminations. *sigh*

This morning when I woke up, I turned the TV on and they were talking about the Macy's parade going to come on. I could *hear* my Ddeceased Grandmother telling me to "come and watch the Mummer's parade". She loved that parade! I was just a little kid in NJ back then. I hated watching that.
