In the never ending quest of finding a business to do from home, I'm been reading a lot about drop shipping. I've done a ton of research and such but I would love to hear from people that actually do it.
So, if you do, do you like it? Is it somewhat profitable? Do you use Amazon or Ebay or both? I'll have my own store but was curious if it's worth using Amazon and/or Ebay because of fees. I'm not looking to make slews of money, but a source of extra income would be nice.

Thanks!!

I know eBay and paypal make it difficult due to their fees and the way paypal works. You need plenty of operating cash because paypal will not release your funds from payment until the buyer actually recieves the merchandise. So you can't really use the buyers payment to cover the costs of the item. I know there are people that do this though. I hate eBay for selling so only use it when I have, eBay is better for buyers IMO.

I used to Ebay as a business a lot but over the years, but stopped when I went to work. It has changed so much now and the fees and the lack of protection as a seller has really turned me off. As a buyer, they're still good but not as a seller. Amazon intrigues me and I will also have my own storefront.

I looked into this for gift baskets when Florida changed the law to prohibit inclusion of food products on gift baskets made in a private residence. So many people staying at WDW wanted food products in their baskets. I thought maybe I could do the drop ship thing to get around the problem since I would not be constructing the baskets. Unfortunately, I could not figure out a way to get Disney products into the baskets without violating the law. The company constructing the baskets did not have the products and would not allow me to send them the products. If the baskets were sent to me, once I opened them to include the Disney products, I was back to the same food issue.

There are a bunch of companies that do drop shipping.
