Does any one else not care for AK?

I do not like AK as well and do not plan on visiting our next trip. I agree it's a "glorified zoo" as someone said, and like them, I do not like zoos as well. The captivity thing doesn't bother me, I don't know what it is. A few of the rides seems to be well below Disney style, and therefore disappointing. For the price, I will visit our local zoo which is one of best (within top 5) in America for so much less $$$! JMO!!

Ak is a very close second behind MK for me. I could spend DAYS in the place. I love to wander the pathways and see everything. I love the music, the sounds, the smells, the imagineering of Joe Rohde.....

I agree that it gets hot there, but I wouldn't move a single tree. The pathways do get crowded at times but from what I understand it's to simulate the part of the world they are trying to bring to you.

I really wish, however, they would ditch the stupid poaching storyline on the safari. Miss Jobson is a little much after all this time....

I love AK! But then again, I love animals, especially of an exotic nature. The safari is one of my favorite things in all of WDW.

It's not that I don't like AK, I do. It's just not my favorite but that's o.k. because even your least favorite park at Disney World is still a great park. I think AK is a beautiful park. Bugs Life is hillarious and I can't wait to ride EE this October.

I like what Mighty Aphrodite has to say. I love AK! I don't go there expecting MK. It's actually my favorite park when I think about it. I definitely feel the Disney magic there. I can't watch Fest of LK w/out getting all choked up! I know, I know, I'm such a softie! I love listening/watching the African musicians. I love the detail. I don't go to WDW looking or expecting to complain/criticize. I go there because I love it!

Wow, I'm really suprised how many people dislike AK. It's amazing to me. The imagineering - the scents and little details in Asia like the incense, and the shrines, bikes, etc. that make it so realistic.

I think if you go into it expecting a zoo, of course you'll be disappointed. You go there to experience the cultures of the different areas as much as you do to experience the animals.

I love the uniqueness of the park!

It may not be everyone's cup of tea, and that's okay. More room for me!

I don't really need to be battered by a stroller, watch a five year old have a melt down and hear mom/dad YELL at them (yeah that works!) about how much they are spending. (I am of the view that it's not the kids fault they have reached the breaking point, it's the PARENTS. I have watched WAY too many parents drag kids who are just over exhausted on to "one more ride" etc for the parent's enjoyement or to get thier money's worth and then be upset with junior when he/she finally just loses it)

For the people who don't like the trees..

Did you ever stop on a walkway and just look up? - When we were there everywhere I looked in the trees there was some incredibly beautiful bird or sloth or something just amazingly interesting. i spent most of my time in this park pointing stuff out to the kids. I was amazed they were all around me and not caged. The park is incredibly well thought out to be able to give you the feel that there is nothing between you and the animals. Oh and there are bars in this park!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
