Does any one else not care for AK?

I think that AK is an awsome park too. Like I said, all the attractions and the rides are great. I like how it doesn't have the feeling of a zoo. But the lay out, the size, and the akward uneven pavement in some areas (which I think some one mentioned) just take away from it to me.

You can tell the Imagineers put alot of work into AK, and I think they've done a great job, and the theming is great. It's just when I go there its hard to enjoy it because of all the walking and the crowdedness of everything, not just from the people.

BTW, has anyone else ever noticed that there seems to be strollers jsut sitting in random places at AK? I know they have strolers in the other parks. But I've never seemed to notice them like I do in AK.

Another family that love AK here. We always go at least 2-3 times during a 10 day visit. This year will be tough since it is only a 6 day trip, but I imagine we will probably spend at least 1.5 days there. We tend to always go there our first full day. Just can't get enough. I have never understod why people don't like it and say it is a half day park. Our family loves to wander there. We could go on the safari all day, and look at all the different animals. And I can't wait to try EE.

not big DAK fans here... we go, but we usually end up leaving hot/tired/frustrated as we seem to be the ones going down the most narrow/stroller-filled/dead end walkways... next trip i have it scheduled for day 3 instead of day 6 like usual, so hopefully we will be "fresher" and more ready for it... let's hope it works :)

AK may not be our favourite but it was certainly up there. It does get very warm there, however, especially when you're from Canada (and there in the winter).

We just got back yesterday from our first trip to WDW and we LOVED AK! We rank it 2nd to MK! We actually ended up going back for a second morning there, we really didnt like MGM AT ALL! We were one of the first in line for KALI (after we had fastpasses for Safari) and we got to stay on for 3 rides in a row, which was awesome, but we were soaked to the bone!!! Donalds breakfast was so much fun! Festival of the lion king was spectacular, we LOVED it!! We didnt ride EE because we are a bunch of chickens LOL but we did get some great pics of it. DD (6) had a blast in Dinoland, Loved lunch at Tusker house, loved the trails-- although a bit congested. The park did seem more crowded than others, I think its just the walkways are too small so it is more packed feeling.

I think that the Animal Kindgom has to be visited with a whole different mind set when compared to the other three parks at WDW. While it is my least favorite of the four (I'd rank them: Magic Kingdom, Epcot, MGM, Animal Kingdom), at this point in my life. But that ranking has changed in the past, and will probably change again as I continue to enjoy WDW.

The posters here have mentioned some of the things that seem to make the Animal Kingdom a bit less enjoyable than the other parks: narrow often uneven pathways, strollers parked all over the place, and the feeling that the park is more humid, hot and crowded than the others.

I would add a couple of items to the above list: Not nearly enough table service restaurants, and not enough pathways connecting different parts of the park, making for more crowded backtracking than should be necessary.

But I'll still be visiting the Animal Kingdom during each visit to WDW, and my personal list of favorite parks will no doubt be changing as the years slip by.

Enjoy.

The last time I was in AK was 2000 and all I know is that at the time, I HATED IT. It absolutley is much hotter there then in any other park but maybe that is just because you have to spend much more time out in the sun then in the other parks. I do plan on going there on a future trip though because I know just how much it has changed and I think that I will really like what they have added. I am also older and more patient then I was at 18 in 2000. I'll let you know when I get back there!

AK is my favorite!!!! I love the scenery, the themeing, the animals, and the Lion King show is the BEST show in the World!! The one thing I do wish is that they would have a good TS on the DDP. To beat the heat, we always go in the mornings, especially when there are AM EMHs. You have to go to another park to get a decent dinner, anyway.

I enjoy it, but it is my least favorite. If I had to skip one park, this would be it. Simply because it's a been there-done that park as far as the attractions. With the exception of the Safari - that's always different.

But - and this is a huge but - I do love the landscaping and the sounds of the animals. And Pizzafari is the very best counter service restaurant in all of WDW IMHO. :teeth:
