does animal kingdom really close at 5pm?

i was just checking out the times the parks close. is it true that ak closes at 5, how about the other parks? not counting emh

I go down the week after Thanksgiving and all that week AK closes at 5:00 pm. I have never had any trouble getting it all in one day the time of year that I am there.

The other parks are open later because of the type of activities.

AK closes earlier, because they need to get the animals back to the barn for feeding time.

Yes AK always closes around 5:00PM except during the busy times like holidays and summer. Once you get to mid August the hours go back to closing around 5:00PM (their normal hours). Since we never go during busier times we are used to the regular 5:00PM closing of AK. Of course, we are usually leaving AK around 12:00-1:00 normally.

You found out, gosh darn it!

It is posted to close at 5:00, but that is only to fool the people who aren't "in the know."

The rest of us (you know the cool people) hide in the foliage at around 4:50 so that all the "other" people leave the park. When the coast is clear, all us super cool party people emerge from our hiding spots, laughing and snickering at the silly people who left at "closing time." We then have a wild rumpus until at least midnight.

During regular season the park indeed closes at 5 in the afternoons. During evening extra magic hours it is open until 8.

In the busiest parts of the year they extend the hours, but it is never open as long as the other parks.

I would love to know the dinner ressie answer also. I have a reservation at 5:00 and I am wanting to know if we will be ok keeping this time or should I call and have the time changed? Thanks.

Park closing just means no one is allowed to enter any attraction queue line. They don't go around and make sure everyone is out of the park right at 5:00. If you have a dinner reservation, you will be seated and you can enjoy an unrushed meal. Their won't be any Disney police standing over you to watch you eat.

I think it is an hour after closing...but it might be 2.
