doing this from my phone so apologies in advance. But the water ride at AK do they have lockers that are free to use for an amount of time? I know the attraction has that tube in the middle but I don't trust it for my cell phone.

If they do have the lockers close by where are they and are they free? I know at Disneyland they have them they Re a bit hidden so unless you know where they are you'd never know they were there.

There are free lockers near Kali River Rapids, not sure how the timing works.

There was also a little circle cubby in the middle of the ride itself (kinda like where you would hang on) that is for personal items. Once the group fills it up, it is then zipped up for an attempt at a airtight, waterproof space. I think it worked decent with my camera bag...maybe the only thing that made it damp was previous riders that did not use it and left it open for it to get splashed in.

ETA: sorry, you already know about the tube...me and my bad attempts at speed reading,dang! *blush*

For $10~ you can get a little waterproof pouch that will protect it. I saw one at Dicks Sporting Goods. It's possible Wal-Mart would have them in the outdoors/hunting/fishing/camping department.

I actually saw a drawstring backpack at Dicks that was waterproof and sealed the same way. $20

If it's just the phone you are worried about, we always bring a zip lock bag. Works great for rain or water rides and you can use the touch screen right through it. Now, if it's everything else you are worried about, just pray you don't end up backwards at the bottom of the big hill or you might as well jump in for a swim.

Yes, there are lockers. The center cubby hole is not waterproof, no zipper, just a heavy plastic flap that will not make a perfect seal, and the bottom of the cubby will not be dry.

We bought the waterproof pouches at Dicks for our phones , camera etc and love them!! Come in handy not only on water rides but also on a rainy/down pouring day in FL., which happens often

I had no idea about the lockers after all these years! LOL

I always take a gallon size ziploc bag rolled up small inside my little park purse (vera bradley mini hipster) which I pull out at Kali and Splash. I put my purse, camera, and cell phone inside of it and zip it up and they fit great. I either hold the bag or put it in the cubby on Kali. On Splash I leave a little bit of the zip open, just enough for the thin strap to come out, so that I can still have it wrapped around my arm just in case since Splash isn't quite as much a drench-fest.
