Does an 8am BOG breakfast reservation matter?

Was able to score an 8:05 BOG breakfast at MK and was excited because I thought it meant we could ride Mine Train first. But was reading Disney now let’s people into the parks at 8am despite there being a published 9am opening. What’s the real story here?

On December 8 we finished our 8:10 PPO BOG breakfast and went outside at 8:45. We walked on SDMT twice before the crowds arrived. So,yes, it still works unless park hours change to 8am. Keep an eye on park hours.

OP, our trip was back in August, but we had the same exact experience as Ensusieasm for our 8 am, and we also rode Mine Train 2x.
What I also liked about the early BOG ADR was the ability to line up ahead of time, avoiding the early rush getting into the first entry point on Main Street when it opens at 8 am (we were given cards to show that we had an ADR).
We found it to be far less hectic.

If this is on the hard paid ticket EMM day there is no advantage as they line you up and hokd you until park opens as others paid for event.

There is still an advantage. We’ve had PPO BOG twice on EMM days and both times we lined up across from BOG and were allowed into the ride line before the rope drop crowd arrived. We didn’t get to ride until 9:00 on the dot and didn’t get to ride more than once before the RD crowd arrived but we had a 15 min wait (including the time waiting before 9) without having to be in the RD pack. To be at the front of the RD pack you have to wait ~45-60 mins at the rope.

I forgot to mention lining up early but there is no getting on the ride prior to park opening as guests have paid for the 745-9AM private hours .

We prefer to do this on one of our MK days. I'd rather be eating than standing on main street keeping our place in line. Money well spent IMHO.
I agree.....we will always do this. There was 1x that the ride was down so, we headed to PPan. So, keep that in mind....it doesn't always work. But, again, I would rather be eating than waiting with the crowd.

Ha! I prefer Peter Pan to the Mine Train anyways so this would be fine by me...

SDMT is a little tight for some of us larger gents. :)

We had an 8am reservation on 12/17, an EMM morning. We got in the regular standby line around 8:40, no holding anywhere. They started to move the standby line inside before 9 and que us at the ride. At 9, we literally wallked right on the ride. It was absolutely worth it since we couldn't get a FP because it was our second day in the parks. Plus, the Gastons Feast was filling and held us until our 4 pm Ohana reservation with just one snack (Dole Whip Pineapple upside down cake).

That is great but point is not until 9 am were you able to ride. Some people think they can get on prior to 9am- maybe some days but not EMM days.

True, but you said there is no advantage, when there is. You are literally at the front of the rope drop pack after just enjoying a leisurely breakfast instead of waiting with the masses and rushing in to be first in line.

Not "waiting with the masses" & be at front of line....will always be worth it to me!!!
