Does AKL have turndown service?

At night will the AKL turn down the room?

When we were at POP.....they never turned down and in fact they *made* the beds but never put the comforter over the pillows....

I am just curious what to expect at AKL......

Turn down for concierge is automatic. Turn down for everyone else just takes a quick phone call to housekeeping. I would usually call as I left for our evening activities. I bet you could put a "standing" turn down service request in as you checked in for your room.

We stayed in a standard savannah room. The first day I called for turn down service they told me I would have to call each day and ask...and that it would not be guaranteed since they have to do concierge and deluxe rooms first.

However, we got it every night and the morning of day three I asked if I could just go ahead and get a standing request and they let me.

I called in the morning so I could make sure we were at the top of the list each day to give us a better chance of getting it.

We LOVE turndown service!

We stayed at AKL this past May. Our three rooms were standard view on the third floor. {lobby level} Every night when we returned from the parks our rooms were straightend up and the beds turned down with chocolates and little cards on the pillows. We did not request this. One evening we were getting ready to go over to The Boardwalk when the "turn down girls" arrived. I mentioned that we hadn't requested their awesome services but I wanted to tell them how special it made us feel. The CM said it was just something extra they did for the rooms on the lobby floor to make each guest feel a little of the AKL magic. Magical indeed. We loved this resort so much. Everyone there made our stay so wonderful. We cannot wait to return.

All these wonderful things about the AKL...no wonder it's been voted Disney's #1 deluxe resort by the Travel Channel.

It is my understanding that turndown is not offered at the moderates or value resorts.

At the deluxe resorts turndown comes automaticly with a concierge room and you can also request it by calling housekeeping when you get to your room.

I want to mention that it is ~supposed~ to happen automatically when staying concierge in a Disney Deluxe Resort. However, there have been a few times (not many) at various resorts when our room did not experience Turn Down Service. I was a little sad whenever that happened because I always looked forward to the nightly chocolate candies (I'm a sucker for chocolates, ~sigh~).

I just thought I'd mention this so that if it happens to any of you, you won't feel like you're the only ones this has happened to. A simple phone call to Housekeeping should rectify the situation if it does arise.
