Does AKL have hi speed internet?

I'm surprised it doesn't have it.
I can understand why no wifi ....but no high speed?
i wonder why.

They figure you are on vacation. If you are in your room you aren't out spending money.

Also the high speed is not provided by Disney and the company probably decided the other hotels didn't need high speed.

But for parents with small kids we never stay out late and would use it when in the room for the night.

But Without the zipadeedoodah "tip for the day" on the resort channel we need dome entertainment. :teeth:

I don't think the dial up is that bad if all you are doing is surfing the net. Better than no access. :)

While I agree the dial up was better than nothing I was not impressed. Maybe it was because I was connecting through AOL but I tried the three different local numbers and the connection was horrible. Kept getting kicked off and at .75 for each connection the expense added up. I'd pay $10 a day for DSL/Broadband access.

I used AOL dial-up at BWV last December and had no problems. I sometimes left it connected all day so I wouldn't have to dial in again. For what I was using it for, it was no big deal that it was slower than broadband. $10 per day seems ridiculous to me. I pay $29.95 for an entire month of DSL at home.

I think the reason they don't have all the resorts wired is the cost of the wiring. From what I heard, an outside company did the wiring and operates the broadband service. Perhaps they figured the other resorts would not have enough use for them to go to the expense of the wiring.

Did you connect using the AOL Dialer? Do you remember what local access number you used. The three I tried were horriable.

The problem could have been the phone line in the hotel.

Thanks. Depending on where we are going to stay in June I might end up having to dial up again.
