Does a Hollywood and Vine reservation at 8am when the park opens at 9am really get you to the "attractions" any faster?? My son loves Toy Story, so we made reservations for Hollywood and Vine for 8am so we can be first in and hopefully done by 8:45ish. If we are, what happens?? Where do we go?? Does it really get us to anything "faster"?? We are staying at Beach Club and I am debating just eating at the Beach Marketplace and then walking over to Hollywood Studios at 8:00ish and waiting for the park opening..especially after reading restaurant reviews. Any opinions would be greatly appreciated!!

(We will be there last week of September and the crowd level for that day is 3 out of 10)

The restaurant is as far in the park as the rope where they hold everyone and it's on the opposite side of the street you'd want to be on for toy story so I'd say no it won't get you there faster. Maybe for things on that side of the park line star wars or Jedi training.

No, I do not think so. I would be surprised if you could be done the meal in 45 minutes. if your ds likes the characters, then enjoy. I am sure on a low crowd day you will be able to do all you want, rewgardless

We tried this back in November. We ate at Hollywood and Vine and we were out in time to join the rest of the crowd in line for the Toy Story rush. It didn't get us there any faster, but we did enjoy our breakfast and my son loved meeting Oso. The restaurant was only about half full and we were in and out pretty quick.

My child DOES NOT like the characters...or I should say that he occasionally watches Agent Oso, but refuses to watch Little Einstein. I think he would be more frightened than anything!! We are on Deluxe Dining Plan and need to get rid of one meal...this might be it!!

If you have small children, this is definitely advantageous. You must finish eating and be outside 5 minutes before rope drop. Otherwise you will have lost any advantage. It is easy to do, the characters come around quickly and you serve yourself so there is no wait for food.

You will form a small line ahead of the main rope drop crowd. As that crowd is led down the street, toward Toy Story, you will join the crowd in the front. As you get closer, the cast members eventually lose control and it is a free for all. As you are practically at the ride at this point, and in front, you will be walking on the ride. Even parking a stroller and not running as the crowd begins to over take you, you will still be at the front and your wait for TSM will be minimal.

We were there in late October, during low season to begin with. Our wait for TSM was as long as it takes to walk through the line with a few people pausing to take pictures. 5 minute wait. As we left the ride, the standby time was already listed at 40 minutes. We walked across the way to have our picture taken with Buzz and Woody. 15 minutes later, the standby time was over an hour.

You will get into TSM moments after the park opens, leaving the rest of the day (and a fast pass not burned so quickly) to do everything else. It is well worth it, even if the breakfast is mediocre. Although the characters have great interaction as the restaurant never seems to be full.

We had a 8am in Jan and the charcter interaction was awesome! But they held us at a spot just outside the restaurant until rope drop so there wasn't any advantage to getting to TS except being out of the big crowd!

What about Cape May cafe? Its in your hotel (Beach Club) Minnie, donald and goofy but it is very laid back and relaxing

I agree with bonoriffic totally. We found that getting outside a few minutes before rope drop gave us a small but significant advantage. We were one of the first 15 families on TSM that morning.

We have that scheduled for the following morning!! We have a lot of character breakfasts scheduled...so I figured dropping one wasn't a huge deal. My only reason for booking was to get into Hollywood Studios a bit early. We think we will keep it for now and play it by ear as it gets closer. Breakfast is really the only meal that my little one eats well!

There is a "Rope Drop Position #3" which was added this past winter. It is intended to hold Guests at H&V from getting any deeper into the park prior to Rope Drop. At RD you are then allowed to join The Running Of The Bulls groups going to ST or TSMM.

Can you send someone to get a fast pass and the rest of your group finish eating?

We have a 9am ADR for H&V and I was wondering if we can send one person to go grab a Fast Pass for TSM at 9am so we can head to TSM sometime after breakfast.

Yes, you can do this. I would wait until after you're seated though, because they may or may not seat you until everyone is there, and our experience has been the "may not".
