Does 3 days always get you 4 ?

My friend is going to WDW in 3 weeks and spending 5 nights at the YBC (LUCKY). She only purchased 3 day park hoppers because they just want to relax arrival and departure days.

She mentioned to me that since there are 4 parks and they only have 3 day passes, they would probably not go to AK . I told her that her 3 day passes would get her in for 4 days but to double check with her TA.

But we all know that the best and most accurate info comes from right here on the DIS! So tell me, will she be able to use her 3 day passes for 4 days since she has 5 nights at YBC?

TIA

No, the passes can be for different days then the nights. So she only has three days of park visits.

Nope. A 3 Day Pass is just that. A 3 Day pass good for 3 days of Park entry.

:confused3 I am so confused! :confused3

I'll advise her better after I get straightened out myself!

We have always had park hoppers, stayed on-site , and been able to use our hoppers the last day. So for instance if we had 6 nights booked and had 6 day hoppers we were able to use our hoppers the last (7th)day--the day we check out.

I hope this is still the case. We are going in Sept and have 5 nights booked at POP with hopper passes for 5 days and planned on using them the 6th day--check out day.

Please help me figure this out.
Thanks

Did you have the old length of stay unlimited park hoppers? The MYW tickets are by how many days you choose, but the money difference isn't very big for an extra day.

As far as I understand it, the new Magic passes are different than the old Ultimate park hopper passes we used to get when staying at a disney resort. The Ultimates were good from the moment you checked in until the end of the day you checked out. So if you arrived on Monday and left on Thursday, you could hit the parks as soon as you arrived, and stay in the parks until they closed on Thursday.

The new Magic passes don't work that way. They are specific to the number of days you purchase for each ticket. If you arrive on Monday and leave on Thursday, you need to buy a 4 day pass if you want to visit the parks on all 4 days.

In addition, if you add the waterpark version, you only get a specific number of times you can visit the waterparks within the timeframe of the ticket. The old Ultimates let you go as often as you wanted to.

Hope this helps clarify! ::MinnieMo

I'm not sure what they were. Last year we had the Ultimate Park Hopper but I don't know what they were years past.

Now I am no longer asking just for my friend but our plans might be blown out of the water .

We are checking in to Pop on Sept 26 and checking out on Oct 1. Thats 5 nights. We purchased 5 day Park Hopper passes. Will our passes only get us in the parks on Sept 26,27,28,29 & 30? We won't be able to go to the parks on Oct. 1 which is check out day ?

We have always done this in the past but things have changed or is it just the type of ticket we have this year? We purchased the free dining plan and I could have swore the ad said 5 nights and 6 days.

Your five day tickets will get you in for five days, if they are the expiring kind you can get in for any five days w/in ten days from the first use.

It might have said 5 nights & 6 days, but unless you purchased a 6 day ticket, one of those days will not be in a Park.
The old Ultimate Hoppers which were attached to your resort stay included unlimited admissions for the length of your stay. MYW passes do not work that way. They are ONLY good for the number of days that you purchase. Just like the old Park Hopper passes. Ultimate Park Hoppers and Park Hoppers were 2 different ticket types.
Ultimates were only available to onsite guests & booked when you booked or checked into your resort. Plain Hoppers were available to anyone & bought according to how many days you paid for.

A 6-day hopper pass is only $3 more than a 5-day pass. You should upgrade your tickets to 6-day tickets, if you want to enter the parks an extra day. :)

Just to add to the consensus - your five day pass is just that - for 5 days. You must have had length of stay passes in the past which were good for every day of your stay and are no longer available (to my knowledge). You may upgrade your 5 day passes to 6 day passes for about $3 per ticket.

For the free dining: You will receive the same number of table service meals, counter service meals, and snacks (for each person) as the number of nights you booked. So, if you have 5 nights booked, then each person will receive 5 table service meals, 5 counter service meals, and 5 snacks that may be used through the 6 days that you are there. They will expire at midnight the day you check out if you have not used all of the credits by then. HTH

The Make It Your Way tickets right now are for the exact number of days that you purchase (the old Ultimate Park Hoppers were, too, but Disney automatically included all your days in the package... now you have to choose how many days you want). In addition, the new tickets do not automatically include park hopping and the water parks/PI/DQ, which the Ultimate Hoppers did. Those things are available, but at a price. I actually prefer the new choices because we can get exactly what we need. I'm sure that AllEars or this site has guides to the new admission options. To answer your question, however, if you bought a 5 day ticket, you get 5 days of admission. Your friend has 3 days of admission.

It's pretty straightforward -- if you want to go for the parks for 6 days, you need to buy a six day pass. A 5 day pass gets you in the park for five days....

Even with the old Length of Stay (LOS) passes, or Ultimate park hoppers (UPH), you only had admittance for the number of days you bought. For example, if you stayed for eight nights, the default package is a 9 day UPH. You have park access for 9 days, including the day you arrive and leave. However, you did have the option to knock off the first and last days to save money.

There was never a system where a 7 days pass gets you in the parks for 8 days (you may be confused on the number of nights vs. number of park days)

The new tickets are much better -- you only need to buy tickets for the number of park access days -- saving potentially some big bucks.

Moving from a 5 day pass to a six day only increases the cost by $3.19 per adult. If you want 6 days, buy them -- the cost is too small to worry about.

OMG!!!!!!!!!!!

Not only did I inform her wrong but our plans were wrong as well. (IDIOT!) Thats what I get for ASSuming everything was the same as years past!

Anyway I just got off the phone and changed our tickets to 6 days for a total charge of .....hold onto your wallts.....$6.30. She only charged me $1 per person to add 1 day to each ticket. AMAZING! I didn't know that you could get anything at WDW for $1 let alone a whole day in the parks! :cool1:

Thank you guys so much :love1: . Now how do I tell my friend how dumb I feel for giving her the wrong advise? Maybe when I tell her she can add a day for only $1 she'll forgive me. :flower:

Maybe you're all set, but I thought your confusion might be that you or your friend are wondering if you have to go three days in a row? I believe if you check in on Monday and leave on Saturday, you can use three day park hoppers on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, they don't expire on Thursday (three days after check-in). I'm pretty sure they expire within 14 days.

Can someone confirm or correct?

Finally, before you call your friend, by my calculations, the adult prices for three day park hoppers are $68.67 per day for a total of 206.01. The four day park hoppers are $55 per day for a total of $220, or an increase of $14 per adult.

I think you are right. I don't think the $1.00 increase happens until you have a 4 day hopper or more. For example, we had a 4 day hopper and we upgraded to a 5 day hopper and it was only a $1 more a person. But I remember looking at the difference between 3 day and 4 day and it was a much bigger jump.

Thanks for responding . Yes I did get this confirmed when I called. She told me we had 14 days to use our park hoppers--they need not be consecutive.

That means your vacation is five nights and six days, not that you get six days park admission if you purchase five-day passes.

On the other hand, it costs less than $2 per ticket to upgrade to a sixth day - which you can do at check-in or at Guest Services.
