A recap of the Montana Minnies family cast:
Grandma Mouse (84) Likes to go, but really enjoyed staying in the villa and just relaxing. Last visit to WDW 1985
Sonny (57) told us before going that he was not a mouse fan. Last visit to WDW 1988 along with his wife, his 2 older daughters and his 2 sisters.
Mrs. Sonny(49) Loves Epcot and has turned into a regular tourist since her last WDW visit in 1988
Missy (26) recent law school graduate and is a very busy person, does not like to be idle for any length of time.
Dodie (24) RN at the Childrens Hospital in Philadelphia, finalized her vacation plans 3 months before we were set to go. She is spontenous and loves Disney.
Melly(14) Entering High School in the fall. First trip to WDW and the reason we all are here.
DisneySis(54)- Disney Lover, 2nd grade teacher and an avid planner. Someday hopes to be a DVC owner. Last WDW visit 2003
Me(44) Writer, reader of the Dis Boards and disney follower. Last visit to WDW with my older sis 2003.
After the long awaited arrival of Dodie we get a bite to eat and 7 of us head over to Epcot. I wait along with my sister in law while the others go to do Test Track. After about 15 minutes Missy and her baby sister Melly are seen coming towards us with Missy not looking to happy
Melly has decided not to ride Test Track, so just DisneySis and Dodie are going on it. Missy and Melly are bickering as to why she would not ride it, then decide to go on over to the Living Seas. I wait, they return and Missy is still not to happy. DSIL is just laughing. Not what they had expected, but apparently Melly liked it! Not true for Missy. Not exciting enough for her I guess
The ride for Test Track took my sister and Dodie over an hour, thinking they would have a short wait time was a mistake. The line kept moving they said, but it had been long. the ride was OK. Next 3 of us tackle Mission Space, I had got us fastpasses for this, it's me, Missy and Dodie. I felt apprehensive as we waited to board this mission, but once it got underway and was done, it turned out to be fun too
It's starting to get late and we need to head back so we can get ready for the Hoop De Doo Revue. This was one of my brothers main requests for him to come to WDW was that we do the Hoop De Doo again as we had 16 years earlier. Dodie was 8 at the time and had loved playing the washboard
So DSIL and myself head back to the resort while my sister, and 3 nieces stay at Epcot to do a few more things.
As I have said before I have no comprehension for getting from one resort to another by the WDW bus system. I thought giving us an hour would do, but as it turned out the route I chose must have been the slowest because we went over to Downtown Disney, caught a bus to Wilderness Lodge and then from there needed to take a bus to the Hoop De Doo which by the time we got there made us late
But the CM's are just as friendly and cordially as the others have been and my sister and the 3 nieces are already there with the table, right up in front.
Yes, this is giong to be fun.
Being in front allows a person to become more involved with the show. Unlike 16 years ago this time it is my brother who is picked on as a participant of the family. No one but myself(his baby sister) and his youngest,Melly seemed embarressed
The woman entertainer proceeded to ask him his name and then sat on his lap as she twisted his hair into an Alfalfa (from Spanky & Our Gang) look alike. Mrs Sonny was busy now taking pictures and laughing right along with the rest of the restaurant. The entertainer then asked my brother to sing "Toot Toot" into her microphone. So he did! Oh he had a great time. Along with the rest of the restaurant.
He is now a STAR
Grandma Mouse commented on how well he did, she was so proud of him!
It was indeed a very memorable evening. Not over since we needed to get back to our resort. As we leave the dinner show it is pouring rain. Not a drizzle, but pouring. Someone is passing out plastic to be used as raingear. In the meantime my oldest niece has told Dodie to go and get us all raincoats, which she obediently does.
Which makes poor Dodie short on cash. But it is done for a good cause. So all 8 of us are traveling back to the resort in this rain storm, we get to the transporation center where we want to take the monorail over to Epcot to catch a bus to OKW. Well the monorail breaks down, but good news they get it fixed. We make it back to OKW, wet but safe. Another memorble day for the Montana Minnies & family
