Dodge Journey: 5 or 6-Passenger?

We will be heading down to WDW in November with 6 people (5 adults plus a preschooler in a car seat.)

The difference in price between a 5-passsenger vehicle and a minivan is astronomical. Then I saw the Dodge Journey on the Alamo website (we must rent from Alamo) and it said 5-passenger. But upon reading online reviews, it seems to actually be a 6-passenger and it is $200 cheaper for an 11 day stay than the minivan.

Anyone know if it is indeed a 6? In addition, when the Alamo website says "Dodge Journey or similar", what are the chances of me actually getting a Journey?

TIA:wizard:

The Journey can seat 7 I believe with the 3rd row seat available but I'm not sure if fleet companies will buy it with the optional 3rd row since it's not a standard option. But from the sound of the description its only going to have seating for 5. Driver / Passenger seat and then 3 in the rear.

This doesn't mean it will be available to you but we have always had the choice of a larger car when renting through Alamo. In fact I'll pay 20% or so more to rent with them as every year we have had a wide choice of cars.

We rent a full size. Those full size cars have been anything from a Volvo that fit 4 nice an Impala which fit 5 easy to a Ford Explorer (last trip) that held 7. If we wanted to walk further there were mini vans in the full size isle. That doesn't mean there will be that much verity when you arrive, but chances are there will be.

I always see crown vics in the full size row, they will comfortably fit 5, and you can be one of the few driving one that is under 90 .

I rented a Dodge Journey from Alamo last January, it did have 3rd row seating. It would be fine for children but I'm not sure an adult could sit comfortably back there :confused3
As another poster pointed out, the journey may not even be among your choices.
Since your trip isn't until November there is still plenty of time for a good code to pop up so you can get a reasonable rate on a minivan.
Good luck.
