Do your kids look alike?

I only have one, but my brother and I are like night and day. I have very dark brown hair, green eyes and have an olive complexion. He's pale-doesn't tan, just burns-light brown hair with blonde in the summer, and bluish/hazel eyes.
I don't look like any of my cousins on my dads side, they are all blonde and as kids were white blonde. My grandmother would show people pictures of us, and I'd be sticking out like a big 'ol sore thumb. More than one person asked her who the little Mexican girl was. I have my dad's skin tone and my mom's hair coloring but combined I look very ethnic-I get Italian, Spanish, everything but what I am, which is German, Irish and English.

You beat me to it. I was going to post the same thing! I have a red head and a blonde. Go figure.

Yes and no. You can tell 2 of them are related to each other but the middle one looks nothing like the other two. None of them look identical to each other like I have seen in some families.

It's more bone structure and familiar things you can see in my kids. The middle one looks just like her cousin, they both favor that side of the family.

That's DH's thought! He has blue eyes and was quite bummed when none of his kids got blue eyes. I TOLD him that he didn't have much chance with my brown eyes, being they are dominent and I was pretty sure I didn't have any blue recessive genes in my body. Although they don't all have deep brown, some are speckled. I told him, maybe the grandkids will get the blue eyes.

It is so amazing how all this works ... as DH nor I have blue eyes ... and our DS (who is a clone of DH except the eye color) has the most beautiful blue eyes ... as a newborn EVERYONE said "they will change" as they knew we did have have THOSE eyes! Well they never changed and when DS was in the 6th grade and he was deciding what to do his science fair project on I suggested "what determines eye color" ... I then got from DS, no way THAT IS BORING.

My two sons look virtually the same. People comment all the time about it, they are almost 7 years apart.

My kids look nothing alike.

My oldest looks like me when I was young - brown hair, long lanky limbs.

My youngest looks identical to my husband - pale blond hair, short muscular limbs, big light blue eyes.

Funny enough, the oldest is attached to the hip of my husband the youngest to me.

My sister and I look a lot alike (we're identical twins), but she's thinner than I am; we look more like our dad. My brother looks nothing like us though...
