My youngest loves to write stories and poems. I was good at writing stories, but I wasn't as passionate about it as she is.

My youngest likes the write, but the older one doesn't! It's like pulling teeth!

I loved to write when I was a child!

DS 8 has been writing little stories lately.....they are all about our cat. "The Cat Who Lost His Owner" "The Boy Who Always Wanted a Cat," "The Cat Who Drove a Car," etc. His teacher has been encouraging the class to write more, and at the end of each day some of them take turns and read their stories to the rest of the class. I am saving them all in a folder....they are so cute! :D

DD likes to write the letter 'C' and the letter 'O'. ;) :p :D

Both of mine like to write. My 9yo has a reading disability and has just really started this year. Her format / grammer / spelling leave a bit to be desired but her content is great. Has wonderful ideas.

Oh I bet she does. I imagine she's got a lot of imagination that's been cooped up without an outlet. :D

My soon to be 7 yr old DS loves to write. I find lots of little stories around the house. He wrote a long spongebob story with illustrations that I may convert into a book using one of those kid-kits. It would be fun to save...

Our DD-11 loves to write stories. In fact, she was asking last night if we could go to the store and get a spiral notebook so that she could start one. DS-9 doesn't have any interest but he does like reading.

DS enjoys drawing maps for his D&D adventures.
They had to draw a map in class the other day and his teacher told him his was one of the best because of all the detail.

dd15 I believe might someday be a writer. She constantly is working on mystery and horror ideas (combination of Stephen King and the Goosebump books) and has notebooks filled with stories. Pretty darn good too.

dd9 likes to write also but I think she has more talent on the art side.

Yes, youngest dd has been writing since she could hold a pencil. At age 5 she would write books about 50pgs each w/ illustrations.

Now, as a "seasoned writer" at 7years old, she wants to be published. She wants to make money now on her ideas.

How I do that, I don't know.

My 10 yo DS LOVES to write. He has alot of his stories saved on the computer. He also illustrates all his own stories. :) He hopes to have a book published someday. :)

MM, that's wonderful. I'd ask here about how to get published, maybe someone has some ideas.

My DD12 writes very interesting, imaginative stories occasionly, but has no passion for writing. My DD8 has mild dysgraphia (a learning disability re writing) and finds it practically impossible to write her thoughts down (though she dictates a great story!) I read a series of books when I was a teen that really made me want to write. The first book in the series of three is called Emily of New Moon. They are written by Lucy Maud Montgomery (the same person the wrote the Anne of Green Gables stories). Your budding authors, especially girls, might enjoy this book.

My oldest dd now 17 always love to write stories from about 1st grade on ,she takes special class in senior honors class for this and has to critic a play at Cincinnati playhouse in the park once a month, for the cincinnati enquirer, her teachers say she writes like James Patterson, She amazes me with her writing. now she is going to college for Journalism, But my other three children have no interest in writing. So i would just keep buying pads of paper for writing stories.

My son (15 y/o) LOVES to write. He just got into writing about two years ago. He writes short stories, plays, and movie scripts. He is currently in Drama at school and writes stuff for them to perform all of the time. I just hope that he can continue his passion and maybe persue it as a career. Most everything he writes is hilarious as he wants to be a comedian. He wrote a short story about our 2002 cruise and I laughed so hard I cried. I never knew that he noticed the stuff he did. All hilarious!

This is kind of a proud mother reply, but I really am proud of my 11 yo DD. She was invited last year to a budding authors class at Mercer University for elementary school kids and all of their stories got published in a beautiful book. This year her teacher submitted 5 haiku to a writing contest and they are being published in A Celebration of Young Poets. Then she submitted a speech to be read at the 5th grade celebration for her class and her speech won! The teacher read them to the class without telling who wrote them and the class voted. There were 7 speeches and she got 15 out of 25 votes and will present her speech in front of the parents and students next week at the celebration! :sunny: :cheer2:

That's wonderful Bentley. :D

Mandy likes to write a little but really loves to draw & color..
