Do your kids have school on Columbus Day

My kids have school here & so do I (I teach at the school).

my son has off the friday before and the monday after. it figures too because we are going to WDW for MNSSHP from the 12- 16th (i think) and the other children have off that thurs and fri so they only miss 1 day..ds is off monday going to school tuesday then absent wed-fri for our trip.. who knew the schoold would be on such different schedules..

No day off for Columbus day in Miami; but we get both Rosh Hashana and Yom Kippur off. Trade one day for two...sounds fair.

We get Columbus Day off. We also get Veterans Day, MLK, Lincoln's Birthday, Presidents Day and Pulaski's Birthday off

We get it off - but here it is called Native American day

and there is an inservice day on the 14th -- wish that was scheduled differently to allow for a four day weekend

We dont get Columbus day either. We get two day Jewish holidays (day before -this year new, and the actual day of the holiday). So just in the month of September alone, we have four days off.

We go on Columbus Day but are off Thursday and Friday of that very week for Teacher Conference Days. We are out for MLK though.

Mine have school on Columbus Day, but I don't work! Free day for me! I like to start my Christmas shopping that day.

This is the first year my son does not have Columbus Day off.
He does have Thursday off of the same week for Jewish Holiday.

We do not get columbus Day off. Never have. It is a long stretch ffrom Labor Day until Thanksgiving!

Don't you get Veteran's Day off? My kids are off onn Columbus Day, Veteran's Day (11/11), MLK...in other words, they get a LOT of holidays off!
